Great workout, but what about the instructor's attitude

If you found an exercise video that had a great workout that would challenge you every time you used it but there was something about the instructor that bothered you, what would you do?

Would you get it anyway and put up with the instructor?

Would you skip it because you don't want to deal with the instructor?

I ask because I run into this all the time. I'm trying to get through watching a video right now and the instructor just seems so full of himself that it really bothers me but the workout is great!

I'd get rid of it.

I got rid of "Sexy Arms" because of the instructor's patronizing attitude, even thought it was a solid workout.

Life is too short to put up with annoying instructors.

I don't think I'd get rid of it, because I'm such a "collector" (remember comic book guy's superhero persona on the "Stretch Dude and Clobber Girl" episode of The Simpsons? ), but I sure wouldn't do it anyway. Life's too short and there's too many workouts I like to put up with one I don't.

If I don't like the instructor, it's just not going to happen no matter how great the workout is.

Depends on how badly I dislike the instructor

I'll put up with a few minor irritations for a great workout, but if I really can't stand the instructor I'll get rid of it. I want to be in a good mood at the end of my workout!

If I don't like the instructor, there is NO CHANCE of me keeping the workout.

Same thing re production values for me.

I would probably keep it, and just not do it. Eventually I'd realize that I never do it and get rid of it. Keeping it for a bit to see if you will ever decide to go back to it could help you avoid making rash decisions - there's nothing worse than trader's remorse!

Like FitNancy, though, if the instructor is *so* irritating that I just want to hurl a dumbbell at the TV, I'll get rid of it immediately.

Kathy

P.S. By the way, Joe, now you've gotten me really curious about what workout this is!

Kathy, I've got this problem with more than one video and instructor. But the one I'm referring to right now is One on One Training: Butt & Legs.

For the good money you invested in his DVD Joe, David Kirsch had better check his attitude!

But seriously, I'd give the video a reasonable try before I abandoned it. It takes me awhile to admit I made a bad purchase. I have to say that it does feel good to get the bad videos out of the house, though.
