Thank you everyone for your thoughts. I keep expecting to see her curled up in her favorite places and then am saddened when I realize that won't happen again. Hubby and I have been reminiscing about different things she did, trying to focus on the good things during her time with us.

SBH and Usia, I am so sorry for your losses as well.

I am so very, very sorry for your loss. Pets are true family members that are in your heart, and they take a piece of your heart when we lose them. Maggie has such long life filled with love.

When we lost my sweetheart Bonkers last year I actually typed a list of all his unique and adorable habits and characteristics. I did not want to forget a single one. Oddly, our cat Mila started doing a few of them

I'm so sorry. I lost my cat, Sugar, near her 22nd birthday—five years ago. I still miss her and think about her all the time.

I am so, so sorry. I experienced the same thing this week. I took Topper to the vet last week and they gave him an antibiotic for a UTI. He seemed to be doing okay and then on Wednesday he collapsed and died as I was rushing him to the vet. The vet thinks he may have had a stroke. He was such a special boy. He always sat near me and watched whenever I exercised, even if it took me two hours. I used to call him my little spotter. I loved him so much. The very next day, Cora was diagnosed with cancer and she will be having surgery Thursday. I’m still mourning the loss of Dudley in March and feel like my family is fading away. Topper was a long haired chocolate dachshund and Cora is a seal Boston terrier. She is blind- both her eyes have been removed. I call her my Fat-Headed Princess of the Evil Empire.

Oh Gams, my heart aches for you right now too. You have so much to deal with.

Sherry, I like the idea about writing things down. It helped a little just to write about Mags here on VF.
