Funny things instructors say

I think we’ve had a thread like this before, but I always laugh when I do one YOUv2 workout and Leandro Carvalho introduces an arm movement and says, “It’s like you are chopping vegetables to make a fruit salad.”

I have never seen that workout but I did hear a weird thing the other day when I was previewing a workout.

The instructor said" hey you put your tongue back in your mouth!"

For the life of me, I can't figure out why you would say that ??

I always get a kick out of Jessica Smith saying something like, "she [Beth] is the golden child" in the workout where Beth is stuck working out in a patch of sun outside with Jessica and her mom. Jessica and her mom are pretty much in the shade but poor Beth is right in the sun. I think it's workout 1 in the 21-day set. I call it the "golden child" workout.

Jessica says in either that or another workout that Beth is really "earning her keep today". I always think to myself, that's for sure. I jokingly refer to Beth as "the overachiever" when my mom and I are working out together. I love when Beth is in a workout, but I have to try hard not to compare myself to her because she is like the energizer bunny and manages to keep a smile on her face the whole time.

(I tagged this and some old threader threads that are in the same vein.)

Edited to add: Apparently Beth's last name is "Golden" (I never knew this): https://www.zumba.com/en-US/profile/beth-golden/21118

Karen Voight says "Make a round circle" in a few of her workouts. Is there another kind of circle not mentioned in my mathematics courses?

I did this walk yesterday. So fresh in my mind and that is interesting her last name is Golden. At first I didn't care for Beth but I really like her now

Some of the real doozies were from the golden age of yoga videos at VF.

Shiva Rea - jacuzzi jets from heaven, let your head hang like a ripe grapefruit, relax like you're in the womb, so many more.

John Friend - blossoming buttocks and other weird references involving the nether regions.

I must be getting old, there were so many more crazy yoga sayings. I think Eoin Finn had many of those but I never used his media.

And didn't Bryan Kest curse?

I think in one practice Eoin says it should feel like someone is licking ice cream off your hips or smthg like that. I was certainly caught off guard by that!

She also says, in several different workouts, 'We'll repeat that on the other side again.'

In some Classical Stretch episode I probably couldn't identify: "now gather some wheat...and place it on your right arm." This repeated a few times until Miranda said something like "in real life, this would be very impractical."

I'm not sure it was meant to be a joke, but I was cracking up.

She also regularly calls 'fingers' 'fingies,' which I think is just adorable.
