My husband wants me to...

gain weight!!!!!
And I'm not skinny. I'm 5ft 2" if I stand very straight, and around 120-122 lbs (my weight fluctuates! ). I don't weigh myself regularly, but I've stayed in that neighborhood for the last few years.

Anyway.... dh and I were talking about body types and clothing, and all of a sudden he said he thinks I could put on a little weight.
I would love to lose my saddlebags and belly fat, and have a little less wiggle on me but he says I look great and he thinks I'd look better if I put on weight!

Dh is tall and naturally muscular and thin, so it's not like he's seeking company. He's not trying to discourage me from working out either.

I'm not worried or anything, just kind of puzzled...

Have you asked him to explain his reasons?

Sarah,
he just says he thinks I could take a little more meat on my frame (because you can't see many bones...)

If it were my husband I'd say "aww, honey, thanks, I really value your opinion" and secretly say to myself "aww, honey, thanks, but you're out of your freakin' mind"

Perhaps he sees you fretting over your workouts and body and just thinks you could relax a bit? In other words, in the immortal words of Billy Joel, he loves you "just the way you are".

what a sweetheart! But yeah, I'd say "thanks honey!" and then not worry about it anymore. Just work your body the way you feel comfortable with it. It sounds like he'd love you no matter what size you were!

I'm inclined to agree with this interpretation. In which case it really is sweet of him. He just wants you to be happy and not worry or stress over working out or trying to attain your "ideal body." "He loves you just they way you are!" that's fantastic As he should!

Not all men want real skinny women. You can be healthy with some extra meat. LOL
