I finished listening to The Dutch House as read by Tom Hanks a few days ago. I really enjoyed it and now sadly I have a bunch of my holds that have become available and I cannot get into any of them!!

I'm going to actually try to keep track of my books on Good Reads this year. I belong but only update it sporadically. I do still review all my books on Amazon, but I review so much else there too that I can't really do a year in review of just books.

I am currently reading Anne Tyler's A Spool of Blue Thread. It started off okay, but now I'm feeling frustrated that she is going to backtrack, forgetting about all of the current characters as she goes into an extended flashback. Her books are so meandering! What did others think of this one?

I loved A Spool of Blue Thread. The only Anne Tyler book that disappointed me a little bit was her last one. I can't remember the name of it right now.

I finished Rules of Civility by Amor Towles. I loved it. I think it was just as good or even better than A Gentleman in Moscow.

I am not sure what I am going to read next. I am not interested in the next book my group is reading but I have plenty on my shelves to keep me busy. I just have to make a decision. Stay tuned.

Thanks for reminding me to update my Goodreads Beth. I keep forgetting to do that.

I'm so glad to have helped you find something good!

I've been keeping track of what I read on Goodreads for a few years now and have learned a lot about my own preferences. For a long time I thought I'd lost interest in reading because I had trouble finishing things. After tracking what I read for a year, I tried to figure out what they had in common and sought out books with similar qualities. Mostly it's about good writing, but also about compelling characters in a story that's not too violent and grim.

Currently reading The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix Harrow. Definitely off to a good start. Love the premise. (Doorways to other worlds)

Thanks Carol; I will stick with it and hopefully it will draw me back in!

Has anyone read the follow-up book to Moloka'i, Daughter of Moloka'i? I just found out it was out. I'm not sure if I want to read the original first to remind myself or not.

I read it and liked it, but not as much as the original.
