I'm on the library waiting list for The Testaments, but I've got five books to read before I get it.

Darn. Well, this is one of the reasons I'm glad to have joined the library.

Last night I finished The Girl with Seven Names by Hyeonseo Lee. She grew up in North Korea, and managed to get out. Fascinating story.

I finished The Second Sleep yesterday. It will be a long-running series on NBC (I assumed it would be on something like Netflix, so I'm glad I will have the opportunity to watch it). Today I started The Goldfinch. I've already seen the movie, which I enjoyed, despite the terrible reviews. But I got the impression that a lot of the book was left out of the movie, so I'm looking forward to reading it.

It's hard to believe that it's time for the first book list of the decade. Thanks for posting!

I finished Elizabeth Goudge's Cathedral Trilogy last night.

Of the three I liked Tower in the Mist the least.

Dean's Watch was darker than I was expecting.
City of Bells was fine. It started off with a disappearance, and I kept thinking it would turn into a standard murder mystery, but, well, read it for yourself if you'd like to know what happened.

I'm most of the way through The Goldfinch. I was right; they left a LOT out of the movie. Next I'm going to read A Death in Vienna, the first book of the Liebermann Papers. There is a PBS series Vienna Blood starting this Sunday that is based on these books.

I read A Mother Like Mine by Kate Hewitt. It was good. I'm not sure why I so enjoy this series when I don't enjoy a lot of her other books.

I'm reading a newer Maisie Dobbs book by Jacqueline Winspear, The American Agent. This is a good one.

And, I'm reading One Year Home by Marie Force. I'm enjoying it as well.
