Just finished Penric's Mission by Lois McMaster Bujold. It's a reliably entertaining continuation of her World of the Five Gods books. If you haven't read anything of hers, I highly recommend The Curse of Chalion, and suggest you start there.
I wait for the hardbacks since I'm such a fan of her work, but there are more in the series in e-book format for those who don't want to wait. Was just nosing around on Goodreads, trying to figure out what order these stories come in, and found this pre-order for the next hardback out in February: https://subterraneanpress.com/slider...ed/penrics-fox

Currently re-reading The Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold.
The Vintage Detective Stories book wasn't holding my attention. Also, having seen the reviews for the new movie, The Post, I realized that our library has a copy of Katharine Graham's Pulitzer winning memoir, so I've requested it. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/...rsonal_History

Hi,
Does anyone know anything about this book or author? The Girl I used to Know by Faith Hogan? It is .99, so it caught my eye. It sounds like a Maeve Binchy type read, which I adore: https://www.amazon.com/Girl-Used-Kno...okbubemail4-20 ebianco - I read The Bear and the Nightingale, it was good and I plan to read more in the series! I'm currently reading Beartown by Fredrik Backman, I loved A Man Called Ove and so far I am enjoying this one, as well. I also re-read In the Woods by Tana French, I want to get back into this series, so I'm doing some re-reading. Happy reading, Donna |

Alright, having been posting much on my reading, probably because I haven't been doing much fiction. I'm in the middle of two different non-fiction books right now:
Yoga FAQ by Richard Rosen Enjoying this as an opportunity to learn more about the history of yoga, although it's not really a sit down and read for hours kind of book. Better Than Before by Gretchen Rubin I really enjoyed Rubin's The Happiness Project. This one is not quite as compelling (at least so far), and I've been reading it during down time at work, so it's kind of slow going. I also got some books from the library yesterday--some fiction finally, yay! The Lake House by Kate Morton I've been wanting to read another by her ever since I loved The House at Riverton (which I am sure someone here recommended; thank you!). The Wind Between the Keyhole by Stephen King This was an "extra" book in The Dark Tower series that I didn't have a desire to read before even though I loved all the other books; I was kind of annoyed that Kind threw it out there after the series was over. But, after the movie this past summer, now I'm interested. And I also got a Christmas novel. I don't recall the exact title, but I think it's British, and it's a comedy. I was looking for a Christmas book, but all the ones I saw were way too sappy and sentimental (I get enough of that from Hallmark Christmas movies, haha!), and then I found this one. I'll probably read it first; I'll try to remember to post the title.
