I think I'm going to read or re-read some Maeve Binchy books - those are always very comforting to me. There are a few I haven't read yet - Firefly Summer being one of them.

I did recently read Faithful by Alice Hoffman, which I enjoyed - no surprises, I like pretty much all of her books. Interestingly too, she mentions several places near where I grew up in this book -

I also finished The Good Neighbor by AJ Banner - it was ok - didn't love it, didn't hate it.

I have a few other books in my pile, but I'm feeling like I want to read some comfort food books - so here comes my Maeve Binchy collection!

I just finished The Westing Game - Ellen Raskin. It was alright...but a bit strange. Perhaps it's just not my genre...or perhaps all the people in the story were idiots, IDK.

Now I'm reading Cornelia Funke's The Thief Lord.

One of my most favorite of hers. I've read it probably 5 times! You will love it!

I love Firefly Summer. I re-read most of her books earlier this year. Have you read Marcia Willett? You may like her also.

Gayle- have you read Rosamunde's son Robin's books?

You may also like the book "Like We Used To Be"by Jean Stubbs and the author Katie Fforde. Her books are a little lighter reading.

I have read Ocean's Apart by Robin but that's it. Any others of his you'd recommend? I really liked that one.

I'm going to check out Like We Used to Be right now!

I forget Robin's other titles. I read them years ago. I think I have read all of his books except for one. I'll have to check on Amazon.

Jean Stubbs wrote several other books you may like also. It is odd-I think half her books were fiction, and she wrote some romance novels as well, which I have not read.

You may also like Joanna Trollope. I have not read all of her books (yet).

I plan on watching it soon! I was so bummed-- I psyched myself up to watch it yesterday (I rarely watch movies) and went to my library to pick up a copy but it wasn't there (must have been incorrectly shelved since the system said they had it). I placed a hold on another copy.
