I finished An Irish Christmas on my Kindle app. It was pretty good - light and fluffy and kind of hokey, but not bad.

I just finished The Night Before Christmas by Scarlett Bailey. I really liked this one.

I've also read a couple of ebook short stories today - How the In-Laws Wrecked Christmas by Fiona Gibson and All I Want For Christmas is Fudge by Nancy Coco.

I just read the best children's book - Webster: Tales of an Outlaw by Ellen Emerson White. It's for 8 - 12 years old, grades 3 - 7. I read the Amazon preview to decide if it would make a good present for my 10 year old niece and was hooked. It was so good I had to read it first. (She's a slow reader/doesn't like to read so it might be awhile before I could borrow it back). It's the story of a down on his luck shelter dog determined to escape and make it on his own. Except for the Harry Potter series, I never read childrens books but this was fabulous. Loved reading about Webster & his shelter colleagues.

I'm reading In Bitter Chill by Sarah Ward. It's pretty good so far.

Can someone recommend a good coming of age book for me? I just finished "Ordinary Grace" and liked it a lot.

I am reading "Rainy Day Sisters" by Kate Hewitt and enjoying it so far. If you like books set in British villages, try this one (Laura, it is a library loan, so I can't pass it along).

I picked up a psychological suspense book from the library. It is also set in England. It is called "The Bones of You" by Deborah Howells. I haven't started it yet.

I finished the latest Icicle Creek series holiday book by Sheila Roberts. As usual, it was a quick, pleasant and predictable read with a happy ending.

Books 11 and 13 in the Joanna Brady series by JA Jance- Exit Wounds and Damage Control. I thought Exit Wounds was a very good book, meh on Damage Control, it had some good pieces but the storylines really didn't go together. I think this series if very well written, she isn't up there with Lippman or Atkinson for literary quality, but better than many mystery series (as far as the writing, there are many series more fun or more interesting characters.) Oddly, I don't find her other series as good although Beaumont is more entertaining.

Reading A Walk in the Woods- Bryson. Older book nominally about walking the Appalachian Trail, but it is more about people. I'm enjoying it.

As You Wish- light hearted love fest about making the Princess Bride movie.

Brain on Fire- Cahalan. Not sure i mentioned this book before. It was a quick listen about an authors medical issues that caused her to lose her sanity. Very good.

Lynn, I loved A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson. But I listened to it as an audio book. If you can get ahold of the audio book it's worth listening to because Bill Bryson reads it and makes it hysterically funny in places.

I finished Secrets of a Charmed Life by Susan Meissner, one of her newer books. It took me a little while to get into it (not unusual for her books) and then I got totally absorbed in it.
