I want to read Little Fires Everywhere but it seems to be on hold everywhere. I did get a copy of The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah - I think it is going to be a sad book, but I am enjoying the read so far. Happy reading - Donna |

dfit, thanks as always for the update!
I just finished another self-help book by yogi Baron Baptiste, Perfectly Imperfect. I found it quite similar to the prior book I read by him, Being of Power (purchased for $1 each at a used book sale in the fall). I just started reading a book I got to review, On Being an Introvert and Highly Sensitive Person. I think maybe I'm just a little of both, but I was interested in reading it as a psychologist. My next book will probably be another non-fiction (also from a used book sale) called Shakespeare Saved My Life.

I've been in a terrible reading slump for several weeks, but then happened upon a couple of middle grade library books that I enjoyed: one by Alice Hoffman called Nightbird, about a girl trying to keep the lid on her family secrets in a tiny rural town, and A Dash of Trouble by Anna Merino, which reminded me a lot of the Ruth Chew witch books I loved as a kid.
Those books started me on binge of baking related reads, and I blew through Jenny Colgan's Little Beach Street Bakery and am now well into Summer at the Little Beach Street Bakery.

Kate, Jenny Colgan has a new book coming out this summer. I love baking themed books. If I think of others I will post.
I started two library loans but neither one is holding my interest. I may ditch both. One is "Surprise Me" by Sophie Kinsella and the other is "The Lying Game" by Ruth Ware. I have the latest China Bayles series book coming tomorrow. Hopefully it will be much better than what I am reading now. I did enjoy Chrissy Metz's book "This is Me" "The Reunion" by Samantha Hayes was quite engrossing and disturbing. I read "Obsession" by Amanda Robson which had a horrible ending. I would not recommend it. The book Rosie Colored Glasses" was well written. I enjoyed "The Last Laugh" by Tracy Bloom, but I wish it did not end as abruptly. "The Girlfriend" by Michelle Francis was British psychological suspense worth reading. "The Daughter" by Lucy Dawson was not as memorable. I also read two British cozy books by Ellen Berry . I liked them enough to want to read the third book in the series when it is released.

The Uninvited Corpse, book 1 in The Food Blogger series. Can't lie. I love seeing my book on lists! There are some great books here. So much to read, so little time to read. Quote:
