I actually got both Active 2.0 and NFL Training Camp and they have a lot of similar exercises. In the NFL workout there are football specific drills (obstacle courses, pushing on a bag, catching passes while running, etc) that are actually a lot of fun and feel less like exercise. But I was a little disappointed when I set up each game with a 6-week (i think) plan and the exercises for each day were very much the same.
In the NFL game you can pick a player to be your trainer, however, it isn't their voice but actually just a drill sergeant like coach that barks orders at you. I didn't mind that but it may bother some. Also the player/trainer selected didn't resemble the real-life player very much.
There are also some differences in the rep counting and clocks, but they are minor. Oh and the music is better, IMO, on Active 2.0.
Some nice things about the two games in general:
- the heart rate monitor really allows you to tune your effort, make sure you are giving it your all
- most of the exercises do not require the wii remote which means you can substitute weights for the band if you want to.
- from what I have seen so far there are no repeats from Active or Active: More Workouts.
- i think the Active series has always provided a good workout but it seems like these games have stepped things up a notch (I can't necessarily prove that
)
My only complaint is that there isn't a way to combine all four games into one big one to give you the ultimate variety!
The long and short of it is that I like both and would buy both again. If you don't have Active 2.0 then I would certainly recommend Training Camp.
