What would you do? Body shamming at the Gym

The TV show What would you do? is doing an episode of body shamming at the gym tonight. I kept seeing previews of the episode the last few days. It showed that overweight and skinny people shouldn't wear yoga pants.

I usually don't watch shows like that so I probably won't watch it.

I was curious about what this was all about and did a google search. I found a 30 second clip of the body shaming.

I think what astounded me more than the actual words out of the young women's mouths was that ANYONE would be interested in what young women who still think they're in 7th grade have to say about anything.

I know this isn't the first and won't be the last instance in our culture of giving undue attention to the emotionally immature, but it still grieves me. Surely we are better than this.

Oh wow. I think big box gyms are more likely to be like that than others.

Edited to say that I watched a couple of clips of this show. This is one of those supposed reality shows that is obviously fake, even the reactions and people they present as not being in on it. Bad acting, over the top situations.

I don't watch this show...but is the premise of it to stage things and see how people react?

The onlookers are supposedly the ones being caught candid camera style. I believe they are just onlookers being set up, but there is always the possibility that everyone is an actor.

The shamers are actors. I hope the shamed are actors too. It's still bad either way, but not as bad if the shamed signed up for this.

So the idea is that it's entertaining to watch people body-shame other people??

If it's similar to another show I saw (once - in the break room at work), the people who are "shamed" are the bystanders who get sucked into the scenario. I'm pretty sure everyone else are actors.
