no you can't and you won't be throwing good money away. If you get a $50 juicer, it is made in China and the plastic is not as strong as the Huroms or the Omega. Omega is the powerhorse and you won't regret the purchase.. Quite, hevay duty, makes nut milk, does wheat grass and other fine greens. You'l want to juice anything you can.. some people have even juices sweet potato. But no Bananas.

I just made my standby of Carrots, 2 apples and a nob of ginger and 2 slices of lemon, skin on.. So so so good.

wait till you do beats... much better than any pom out there.

I have a question:

Just how time consuming and difficult are the good juicers? My particular concern is that I do not have a dishwasher and I worry about not being able to get every shred of pulp out of all the nooks and crannies.

Yes it takes time. I soak mine in water once apart. A brush comes with it also that’s the right size or you can use a tooth brush.

I also use the sprayer on the sink.

I had a juicer once a long time ago, but found it a pain to clean & hated wasting all that good pulp & fiber that’s left behind. What is the health benefit of juicing vs smoothies made in my Vitamix?

After that I pour it through a nut milk bag or a cheese cloth that's been folded a few times and I squeeze out the juice in a big bowl, then discard the pulp. If you have a Vitamix, you might try making celery juice that way until you know if you want to invest in a juicer. Oh, I don't use the celery leaves because they make the celery juice bitter. I hope that helps!
Hi Paine!
That sounds good, I think I’d like that as I love celery. Does it keep in the fridge for a few days?

Hi Pam! Yes, the celery juice keeps for several days in the refrigerator. I never expected that I would love celery juice but the first time I tasted it, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

My Omega is simple to clean. Here’s a video that shows the process.
https://youtu.be/xBDXJntqctE I have a brush that came with my juicer. I do brush the screen.

I have Omega too. I just made kale, ginger, carrots, and celery juice, for 1 full cup I used lots of products. It is very concentrated. Omega is very slow, takes 15 minutes to make a cup. Messy too.
Pulp can be used in meat loaf or some sort of turkey/chicken patties.
Juice is great because it is goes strait to your bloodstream.
I avoid beet/fruit due a high sugar.
