surface for using Jill Miller's tune up balls

I finally figured out a good surface for using Jill's tune up balls. We have carpet everywhere in our home, except for the kitchen and bathrooms. The tune up balls do not work well on rugs or my yoga mat.

I had been using them on puzzle mats, but that is not ideal. The mats kind of "grip" the balls.

I decided to try them on top of a hard clear plastic mat that we have under our office chair that is on wheels that we use to protect the carpeting. It works perfectly! I think we bought it in Staples years ago.

I wanted to share this in case anyone else needed a better surface for using the tune up balls. I know not everyone has hardwood floors in their exercise area.

Bumping.
I have hardwood floors but this is good information so I don't try to use them on carpet. Thanks Sherry!

Oh, this is excellent! I was thinking I needed to buy a (better) yoga mat, since they're not particularly easy to use (even in a sock) on carpet or my current mat. But you've saved me a purchase.

...Except now I need a chair mat. Bwa-ha-ha-ha!!

I got my Treat While You Train kit from Mary a few days ago. I used the yoga tune up balls on my carpet and it worked well for me. I figured if I used them on carpeting, the pressure from the balls would be lessened. In the dvd they tell you to use a wall if you want less pressure. I think that would make using the balls a bit awkward. I am glad I didn't use a hard surface to start with, because the next day I could feel exactly where those balls were digging in.

The plastic carpet protector is a great idea though.

You're very welcome! I thought there must be other VF'ers who do not exercise in a room with a hardwood or tile floor.

I wonder if I can now retry that sidewinder move-I forget the actual name- from one of her dvds. I could never do it since I did not have the right surface.
I tried it on a yoga mat but it did not work.

smilingwolf-how do you like the "Treat While you Train" set? Thanks!

I use mine on carpet all the time. I've never had any issue.
