LoriMichigan,

Sorry you are going through this. That sounds so terrible. Have you tried T-Tapp? This is a workout that optimizes the lymphatic function which aids in detoxifying excess estrogen. I would suggest starting with her More workout. T also sells a supplement that has helped me tremendously for my hormone balance. In addition, I have a couple extra copies of a seminar she gave about womens hormonal issues and T-Tapp. If you are interested in it, and/or want more info about the supplement, please PM me.

Also, I just can't say enough good things about Period Repair Manual by Lara Briden.

Yep, tried T-Tapp and have read and tried everything in Lara Briden's book. I've tried all types of workout styles (gone between high and low about 15 times in five years I think!) and all types of diets. I've quite literally tried everything, basically you name it, I've tried it unfortunately. I have a pantry full of supplements and I've done extensive research into natural supplements for about five years. I've got a bathroom cabinet full of bioidenticals that have only made my symptoms worse. It's just so utterly frustrating.

Did you try T-Tapp's alfalfa and body brushing? These were key for me for hormonal balance. The supplements in Lara Briden's book optimized the alfalfa, but that was the main action for me. I didn't do Lara Briden's diet suggestions, but her point with them was to avoid inflammatory foods, so I restarted the Blood Type Diet, which is my preferred anti-inflammatory diet. In addition I found being consistent with green smoothies really helped me, and I think it is due to the detoxifying effect in addition to getting the nutrition (I learned about green smoothies from T-Tapp).

Oh, Lori, I'm so sorry you're having such trouble.

My weight loss didn't start til after my hysterectomy, and even then I got distracted with other stuff and have been on a plateau for a while.

Yep, took alfalfa for a few years and even invested in good body brushing. I've even tried acupuncture, lymph drainage massage, castor oil packs, switching to all organic beauty products. Nothing worked.

Bought and read the Blood Type Diet, tried all the suggestions for my blood type and have been on an anti-inflammatory diet for years. Nothing has stopped my symptoms. I switch up my diet about every two months (still trying to eat clean) to try different things, and each gives me worsening symptoms.

Have made and tried and bought several types of green smoothies, and they only make my symptoms worse unfortunately. I get migraines and extreme breast swelling for days after having a green smoothie.

I appreciate the suggestions, but like I said, I've tried nearly everything that's out there for excess estrogen in perimenopause, but my body just refuses to cooperate. It's so utterly frustrating -- it's like a second full-time job trying to figure out why nothing helps. And the worst part is I likely have more years of this since I'm still having fairly regular cycles.

Lori - I'm so sorry you are going through all this! This may sound crazy, but have you tried all natural feminine hygiene products and/or a diva cup? I only ask b/c I get the Wellness Mama's newsletters, and she mentioned this in one of her recent letters.

https://wellnessmama.com/25415/probl...-pads-tampons/

It may be a long shot - but maybe???

Yep, have only used cotton pads for the past 10 years. Hasn't made any difference unfortunately other than it's probably better for the environment. My family has a history of toxic shock, so I can't use tampons or diva cup. Thanks tho!

Sorry to TinaT for hijacking thread! I just so understand what you're going through because I quite literally can't find any relief either...

Just curious, when you say you have a "bathroom full of bioidenticals" were they prescribed by a physician?

Yep, I've seen naturopathic physicians for about 20 years now and have even resorted to endocrine specialists. They've had me try homeopathic remedies and numerous supplements in addition to bioidenticals. They've had me try high protein diets, low protein diets, low carb diets, vegan, keto, you name it. I've tried numerous progesterone creams (even Ona's high dose one), wild yam creams, estrone cream, and progestin creams from an endocrinologist. Literally everything gives me horrible migraines, extreme breast swelling, and upper stomach bloat like I'm pregnant. Like I said, it's been another full-time job... it's a daily struggle now.

Again, apologies to orig poster TinaT for the hijack!
