I always thought I'd never date again because my DH of almost 40 years was my soul mate and the best man I've ever known. I couldn't fathom meeting and dating anyone else. This new guy came into my life about 3 months ago and I'm very happy! It's a new journey for me, and one I'm excited to take on.

Jeanne Marie, I'm so very happy for you.

Jeanne Marie - I too am very happy for you! My first husband died over 10 years ago (I know, hard to believe) but I met someone new after 2-1/2 years and we have now been married for over 7 years. It happens and can be wonderful!

Thank you all so much! I feel like I've known you all for so many years, and you are all so kind and supportive. You never know where life's journey will take you, but being here and sharing our victories and struggles together has always been a wonderful thing for me.

Karen, I do remember that you lost your husband too. I am so glad you are so happy. I am only 3 months into this relationship, but it feels right. It's so awesome to be happy again, and to feel that connection with a partner again. It has been 2-1/2 years since DH passed, and I am pretty surprised that I feel the way I do about this guy. I honestly didn't think I ever would again. Thanks for your encouraging words.

Thank you everyone.

Between arthritis, back/joint aches and minor injuries that haven't healed properly, lifting heavy hurts too much. (I also put some of it down to instructors with non-traditional 'unique' moves that tweaked my joints. Never again!) Sadly, my usual range now is about 3-6 lbs and I've definitely lost a LOT of strength.

I just bought Charlotte Ord's Back to Basics which seemed ideal for slower, heavier lifting and I like the non-intimidating setup of 2 body parts per 15min workout. With basic tried-and-true moves, of course. I would love to see if I can safely rebuild some of my lost strength <sigh>.
Where I can get this DVD? The instructors name is unfamiliar. Back to Basics sounds good for one of my coworkers.

BTW Your plan sound pretty good! One step at a time.

Charlotte is British - you can find this one on Amazon or at Total Fitness DVDs.
