How many have lost weight primarily using weight workouts?

I prefer weights to cardio, but I don't seem to lose weight when I do mostly weight workouts. I did lose inches doing Firm workouts, but I reached a plateau and results stopped. Now I want to embark on the Drop 2 Sizes rotation, but I'm not sure I'm up for the interval cardio it contains. I'll have to work up to it. I'm wondering if I'll get any fat loss results.

I have enough fat to lose (I've been sidelined a long time) that results are going to have to show on the scale, not just in inches lost.

I'd love to hear from anyone who lost weight doing mostly weight workouts.
What kind of rep range did you do?

After 2 of my pregnancies I lost the weight doing only weight workouts. I only had so much time and cardio never quite made the cut. I used circuits with 5-10 weights usually, rep range of 10-20ish.
Circuits work for me because they double as cardio.

Can you give me a more specific idea of how you structured your circuits? I used to love Cathe's Circuit Max, but can't do that high impact anymore.

Thinking back, it was workouts that work multiple muscle groups at once (lunge with curl, squat with overhead press). I remember using Jessica Smith's Look Better Naked quite a bit. There is not jumping or even cardio in that one (well, there is a cardio segment, but cardio is not interspersed into the toning.) There is a pretty good cardio effect when you are just holding the weights the whole time and using your whole body.

Both so, so, SOOO true. I will second, third, and fourth these statements. I have had good luck with the FIRM because I like the workouts and instructors but I think if you take the above two quotes and make sure your workouts fall in line with them, you will experience great results.

Would you consider P90X a mostly weight workout (from what I remember it was 3 days weights, 2 days cardio and 1 day yoga). Prior to doing P90X I was doing only cardio since I thought that's what I needed to lose weight after having kids. After 6 weeks of P90X I was back to my wedding weight.

did you do her video or her book workouts? i'm doing a Joyce rotation at the moment, using her "Weight Training Made Easy" book. i've only been doing it for less than a week now, using walking as my cardio.
