I like a long band that’s easy to wrap your hands around to shorten when an exercise needs it, I don’t know what’s out there on YT but I am sure there are good Pilates band workouts.

Thank you.
I wanna be as good as you all for recommendations. This is so kind of you. I don’t feel like exercising today but the tone on that Ana caban one sounds like it’s just what I need.

Some days you just don’t want to move fast.

I just searched for Pilates with band on YT. There are a ton, but these instructors I recognize.

Yeah, sometimes that slow Pilates can burn! Ana is a great instructor.

thank you Chermac..

I did do it today. The Ana Caban Bodyband on youtube..

Boy, it was challenging with the band. I did okay, need to work on now swaying back on the leg extensions. When your laying on your side and you kick you leg to the front and then side and then back. My body wants to go forward instead of holding still.

It worked my legs and my arms. I know I don't need much else.

thank you for the great suggestion. Helps me not have to think about what I should do.

Now if you have any remedies for not wanting to eat when your done, please, pass those on to me.

Christine, are your cats feeling better? I'm sorry they are sick!

Brenda, thank you so much for asking, it means a lot. I've been so worried about them! Thankfully, the medicine seems to be helping and they are doing better today.

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I ended up just taking a walk at work and doing nothing in the evening. Well, nothing workout related, LOL! I had plenty to do.

Anyway, this morning I did:

Jessica Valent - Leg Power Workout - this is one I had done before and I really like it in spite of the fact that it is a lot of lunges and traditional exercises for the lower body. I think the reason I like it is all the hip mobility workout that Jessica inserts into this workout - it really works for me. I dd skip the pistol squats - that move is just not for me!

Jessica Valent - Pilates for Scoliosis - this was a short one - and was scheduled for yesterday - glad i had time to double up.

Christine, I missed the post about your cats! I hope they are ok. My Lab was sick yesterday morning - she ate something she shouldn't have in the yard. That seems to be the way both of my dogs get sick. We are both Scorpios! My b'day is Nov 2nd.

Waves, TGIF!

Thursday's workouts were

Dog Walk - 30 minutes;
Pilates Nest - Arms & Abs - 15 minutes;
Ellen Barrett - Sunrise Stretch - 20 minutes.

Smriti's Arms & Abs workout was very traditional, but not a favorite of mine. Too much work on the hands - hard and uncomfortable. Ellen's Sunrise Stretch was very nice - a little on the woo-woey side, but Ellen tends to go there a lot. She seems like a nice person but would probably be exasperating to be around for someone with a brain that works like mine does.

Donna good job with your workouts. I would skip the pistol squats too - they do not make my knees happy. Sorry your dog was sick!

Christine sorry also about your cats. Somehow I must have missed that post! Hoping they are fully recovered by now.

Brenda I love that yoga DVD by Jessica. It's by far my most used yoga dvd (or streaming for that matter). I would like another one set up similarly - those 20 minute practices are just the right length for me.

Cheryl - Band work can be tough - I use a really long light tension band - I think for pilates they are supposed to be around 6 feet long. The leg kick forward exercise that you are talking about - it is hard to keep the rest of your body still - that's part of the exercise, so decrease your range of motion some until you get the hang of it. I don't think I've ever used tubing - just the flat bands for pilates. Mine is a Stott band - the orange one, which is the lightest tension - but there are plenty of others on Amazon.

Cheri - I've often compared Lisa to Tracy Anderson, at least in terms of exercise creativity. Overall, Lisa cues too much to truly be compared to Tracy, who never cues anything (at least in her earlier workouts).

Waves to everyone!
