Hi Everyone!!
I've been visiting VF for the last six months or so, but this is my first time to actually post (I usually browse through the threads and this one really caught my attention) Anyways, this site has been so helpful to me. I've always enjoyed being active - love to hike, mtn. bike, tennis, rollerblading okay just about anything fun and where I'm moving. I've been married for about a year and a half to a wonderful husband (who thankfully understands my exercise addiction ) but it was at this site that I've found just a wealth of info. When I first decided to get into exercise videos I was using this old Mary Hart from the 80's. :rolleyes: (Okay yes I do still use it now and then ) But I was clueless as to what was out there. Now I've grown to an advanced exerciser, since because of all of your wonderful reviews I've been able to buy some truly incredible workout vids. w/o being let down. I love the Firm ( Jennifer Carmen is my fave instructor as far as Firm goes) One of my other faves are Gin Miller (she just rocks!! so motivating) Anyways, just want to thankyou all again for the wonderful reviews and info. Hello everyone,

I'm pretty new to Video Fitness, although I have been exercising with videos for almost 3 years now. I recently gave up my gym membership (just wasn't using it enough to warrant the expense) and now exercise videos are my primary source of exercise.

On a personal note, I am 33 years old. I live in California and work in a school district as their drug, alcohol, and tobacco intervention specialist. I love my job because I get to meet so many interesting people, I learn something new pretty much every day, and I enjoy working with kids and teens. It can get tough at times, especially when I see a kid on a downward spiral. Most of the time, it is very rewarding. I have also had both my knees surgically repaired (very long story as to how they got messed up to begin with) and so my workouts always have to take them into consideration. I love step, aerobic, circuit and endurance workouts. I have just recently started experimenting with real strength training and kick boxing too. So far, I enjoy those types of workouts as well.

Favorite instructors are Cathe Friedrich, Christi Taylor, Petra Kolber, Jay Blahnik, and Gin Miller. I am not fond of Billy Blanks, Denise Austin, or Charlene Prickett. Sometimes Kathy Smith just bugs me with all her whooping and hollering.

Hi, I just joined today. I am 25 and am a sahm to two boy 5 & 19 months. We live in the California bay area.

I am new to workout videos. I bought Abs of Steel a couple years ago & finally poped it in the vcr a couple weeks ago. I did one of the exercises wrong though & had a back ache for a week

I've been taking a kickboxing class weekly. Since I am only able to take it once a week I figured I'd do workout videos the rest of the week (or as often as possible).

I was never a fan of that series but WELCOME!!
glad you are here.
Definitely you want something else..... maybe more martial arts for practice (Janis Saffell?) or Curl from Kari Anderson?--that's all abs and a great instructor too.

re the martial arts... check out lisa gaylord.... she has a website and some GREAT videos!
