No. I have the older type. If you call customer service and tell them what is happening, they may be helpful. They have been very helpful to me when I have called in the past.

i don't wash mine after every wear... but i do rinse it, then wash it on the weekend when doing laudry!

worst case.... if polar is of no help (and a new battery is of no help...) you can get a replacement strap (amazon has them for about $15.00)

My F11 has died after many great years of use. I emailed Polar and they recommended the FT60 as the current counterpart. Is anyone still using this and can give me thoughts, yay or nay? Thanks!
