Looking for user friendly heart rate monitor

I want a no bells, frills heart rate monitor with chest strap and that the user can change the batteries without having to mail the monitor to the manufacturer or go to a jeweler to replace the batteries - anyone have one that they would care to recommend?

I hope I'm not getting your hopes up, I'm just hoping to hear the answer to this! I'm looking for the same thing...maybe X-post this in the general section? Or is X-posting frowned upon? ...it just seems more people hang out in the General Discussion forum - for the longest time I didn't even know there was anywhere else to post! ;-)

If you do a search in the general forum, it seems that most folks like polar:

That's what I use, unfortunately it has to be sent away (takes like 2 weeks!) to get the battery changed, which I find pretty inconvenient so I continue to look for another.

I had an Ironman too, but I got frustrated when I couldn't find the instruction manual after battery replacement & couldn't figure out how to reset all my information into it :-/, so I'm back to the Polar.

my polar has a user-changeable battery (both the watch and strap!) that hasn't always been the case though.... i'm glad they seem to be going that route now, though!
