Up and down and up and down

Snagged a lightning deal on Circuit Burnout 90 and have done a couple of them - a lot of lie down now stand up now plank now stand up now lie down now BURPEES now lie on your back...it’s a little queasy-making and annoying. Does anyone know what the benefits are of this type of training? Does it train your circulatory system to adapt more readily or something? I hope the benefits are substantial because I have already broken my New Years resolution not to whine and complain about things

That is one of the reasons I don't like Jillian Michaels circuit dvds. Too much up and down. No flow to them.

Oh, the title of this thread made me think it was about the Catholic mass.

I am not a fan of the up and down either, I have to be careful as I will get dizzy and have to slow down.

Not sure if there are benefits but would like to know.

I don't know what it is about up and down and up and down, but I know that I certainly am not as good at it as I was in my younger years!

My MIL recently fell and had to call her rescue company to come get her up off the floor. If nothing else this type of workout should force you to maintain the ability to get up off the floor

Also, it gets your HR up nicely, I've found.

Yes, CB 90 has lots of up and down in it! I have the set and wanted to do a 90 day rotation of it, but ended up cutting it back to a 60 day rotation. It was just too hard on my body with all that intensity. I will say that all that up down/burpee/mountain climbers, etc. really whipped my cardio capacity into shape! I do like the workouts and mix them in with other workouts, but I would never do another rotation of just this set.

I have had troubles getting up and down most of life, due an injury in high school gym class. I have had surgery and rehab on the knee, but still getting up and down is not easy. From recently doing 3 weeks of Tom Holland’s Supreme 90, where there are some segments, that there are fast moving ups and downs, they got easier for me. So adding ups and down to my love/hate list along with pushups and planks/burpees. I know they are good for my body, but probably never will be favorites.

Additional motivation that I always want to get up off the floor, as I age gracefully!
