ropeless jump rope

This is in conjunction with my post on the Michael Olajide DVDs. I don't have a very high ceiling. Does anyone here use a ropeless jump rope and what brand did you buy?
Thanks
STacey

Sorry to interrupt but what exactly is a "ropeless jump rope"?

Years ago I bought a jump rope with weighted handles (1/2 lb each), removed the rope and jumped (exact same motions) just using the handles. Is that the same thing or is it something more specific?

That is exactly what a ropeless jump rope is! I never even thought of just doing that. Brilliant!

I'm curious why you wouldn't just buy super light dumbbells if all you're wanting is weighted handles?

My ropeless jump rope has an extra cord piece beyond the handle, I assume to make it feel more like turning an actual rope.

I use the ones I got with JNL Fusion. They do add a bit of forearm work into the mix. I like them, but I honestly haven't used them in a while.

I was trying to remember where mine came from. I think it must be JNL. Thanks for saying that!

Yeah I guess you would need the extra cord piece beyond the handle to give it more of a jump rope feel....

When I bought that jump rope it was on clearance for a couple of dollars. Made sense to me.

Ropeless jump rope is new to me.

I just checked Amazon - they've got several to choose from.
