Fun question! Things I'd just obviously need:
  • Yoga mat and blocks (Just one mat? Nah, I'd replace both my Manduka Pro - which lives in my workout room - and my Manduka Lite - which travels around with me.)
  • Dumbbells - let's say 3 through 25 lbs
  • A good selection of RaviAnas but maybe not all - for sure Quick Fixes, Ultimate Stretch, and Fat-Free
  • The Yoga Emergency DVDs
  • Eric's Backyard Beginners and Yoga Mind & Body
  • Beachbody On Demand (which means I don't need to replace my various BB DVDs)

After that ... I wouldn't necessarily try to fill out the collection all at once. I'd base it on my current/next rotation. For right now, that would mean a goodly selection of Gilads (current), and for my next planned rotation, Yoga 30x30 and some weight DVDs with short segments - Gilad Express (double credit!), Charlotte Ord Back to Basics ... I'm not sure what else, I'm planning to scan my giant collection opportunistically for these. I'd follow a similar plan for equipment - I'm sure I'd want some bands eventually, but maybe not at first.

Dumbbells
Squat rack / power cage & barbell
Elliptical
At least 2 Kettlebells
Mandala yoga mat
Hula hoop

I can't believe I forgot to mention my Lauren Brooks DVDs on my initial list! Maybe it's because I'm still rehabbing my knee so haven't touched the kettlebells much lately...

Anita, this is me also. I can't rebound anymore and sometimes wish that I had never started. It may have caused or worsened my cervical spondylosis. I can't lift heavy weights or do anything high-impact or overly intense. I LOVE Jane Adams, CS, and have just discovered Lee Holden. I had to put all my Firm. Cathe, Jari Love, etc. DVDs aside.

I love streaming.
Jackie, as usual, I love your input. I don't stream, but keep hearing about Barre3. Their site is calling me. It looks like something I may like. By the way, your new profile picture is lovely.

Haha, yes. I'm so bad about finding stuff I "need" when I hadn't even heard of it 5 minutes before!

As far as recreating my collection...
I keep a small collection so it wouldn't be so bad. I'd want:
Dumbbells
Yoga mat, strap
Loop band
Folding Treadmill (I have an elliptical but it's a space hog)

DVDs:
a few Jane Adams, but I could get by with just Gentle Yoga
a few KCMs
Bar Method CYB
Winsor Bun & Thigh
Mimi Solaire Deep Stretch

That would be my starting point...and I could stop there...but I probably wouldn't.

Gee, just about everything. Probably in order of importance:
  1. Manduka yoga mat
  2. stability ball
  3. yoga blocks
  4. yoga strap
  5. Svaroopa blankets
  6. Dumbbells 2# to 15#
  7. Stott Pilates Express mat
  8. Pilates ring
  9. mini ball and squishy ball
  10. yoga eggs
  11. flexband
  12. rectangular bolster
  13. large round bolster
  14. eye pillow
  15. Sling Shot hip circle

Oh my DVD collections, what would I do. I'd start recollecting first to last:
  1. My Winsors which might be hard - the most beloved ones are OOP
  2. RaviAna collection
  3. Jane Fonda collection
  4. Rodney Yee collection
  5. Project You - would need to track down original full kit
  6. My KCMs
  7. My Margaret Richard collection
  8. Yoga Booty Ballet - another tough one, lots OOP
  9. Restorative Bliss Yoga (Skyler Meyers)
  10. Restorative Yoga Practice (Deborah Donohue)
  11. Select Kathy Smith workouts
  12. Suzanne Deason Balance Ball Fitness collection
  13. Certain Ellen Barrett workouts

I’d replace all my Stephanie Huckabee (including her WW and Firm workouts) my Yoga Burn (Zoe Bray Cotton), Jessica Smith, and some Denise Austin and Suzanne Bowen workouts. I’m aiming for a minimum of equipment. I’ve had pretty much every piece of equipment over the years and what I’ve used the most are my yoga mat and resistance bands.
