Can't find tights that fit

I have not been able to find any exercise tights/leggings that fit! I am short (5'1"). My rear end is a little big for my height (about 35") but not huge. Everything that is the right length is too tight in the butt. Some of them I can't even get on. If I get a larger size it's way too long, and rolling up the bottoms doesn't fix it because everything else (like the knees) is still off. This happens even if I can order a "petite" size for my height. I think part of the problem is that most of the tights these days are all the same style - lycra/spandex, very tight material, with a sort of "panel" across the lower abs and hips that is very unforgiving in tightness and appearance. The leggings I liked the most in the past were just soft cotton with little to no "smashing" at the lower abs and hips, and they fit me better. I have tried Lands End, CVG, and Title 9. Any other ideas? Should I just give up and wear sweatpants?

Perhaps children leggings in size 16 or 18 might be an option.

I love 7/8 tights from Athleta to have lengths that aren't too long.

They have so many varieties that are different kinds of material, too

Have you tried Academy Sports, their BCG brand? What about Fabletics, too? I have to say I gave away all of my leggings. I hate to exercise in them. I ended up getting joggers and harem pants (yoga) instead.

Talbots has petite size leggings and they are having their red door sale- 60% off the sale price .You can also go to a store and they will order it for you with free shipping and free returns.
They also have Haven well-within on their website-it is their "wellness brand" those are quite long and run big.

Old Navy kids section has ones that are primarily cotton. Yoga pants might give you some extra room.

Fabletics has very inclusive sizing. They also have an array of fabrics. It sounds like you prefer low compression so that's what you'd want to look for.

I love Athleta leggings and the 7/8 size fits me great. I am 5'2" and short waisted. If I can pick up Athleta on their clearance or alternative sites (Ebay, Poshmark) it's more affordable.

I'm not a fan of Fabletics. I think that it's something with the waistband. For whatever reason, they don't fit my body and seem to slide down and bunch. Their tights also seem excessively stretchy, almost elasticy. And, not sure if their policy has changed, but I hated the subscription club.

Fabletics has a brick and mortar store in Disney Springs in Orlando now. That's the first I knew they had any actual stores. I wonder if they still do the subscription club. I don't like that method either.

Fabletics has had physical stores for maybe 4 or 5 years. There is a lot more available online, at least based on what's been available at my local store.

There is a TON of variety in the stretchy-ness vs compression of the various leggings. It depends on what fabric you get. Powerhold is very compressive (stays put) Sculptknit is more stretchy. There's others that are more in between.
