What specific workouts or programs helped you with posture?

Hi all,
I need help with my posture. What specific workouts helped you improve your posture. Please provide as many specifics as you can (how often you did the workouts, what other things were you doing, etc)?

I must add that I am heavy chested, and that probably contributes to my bad posture. In the past, I also did several programs that didn't include any chest openers and were kind of performed on all 4s so that may also have not been the best thing for me.

Thanks for any recommendations you have!

Doing all the different standing arms from Tracy Anderson workouts really repositioned my shoulders and gave me muscles all around my armpit. I thought they were too easy and thought of them as a 20 minute warm-up, but very gradually, my range of motion improved without pain or soreness. I was doing the full workout, so I suppose I made strength gains from all the times I had to do side planks, reverse planks, regular planks. But she doesn't hold a position long, she likes to move. I've also tried Essentrics but usually manage to pull something and have to wait several days before I can raise my arms again. I'm just a spaz, I try too hard with it I think.

30-Day Posture Makeover

I highly recommend the 30-Day Posture Makeover, discussed here on VF: http://forum.videofitness.com/showth...hlight=posture

Here's a link to her site:http://thepowerofposture.net/product...-makeover-dvd/

I bought the digital download. One of the best purchases I've made. Short, informative, accessible posture workouts you can add to your day in a variety of ways.

She also has a youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdJ...E2gGHrTcOrKhLg

CS/Essentrics hands down -- I actually grew a half inch since I started about four years ago!

I think the secret to good posture is strong core muscles. I have always had Pilates in my routine. I have very strong core muscles, and I do have good posture. I also like the posture work in Essentrics.
