weighted jump ropes?

Hi,

Has anyone out there in VF-land had experience with weighted jump ropes? There is the Crossrope, which is pricey. Curious to know if there are alternatives. Thanks.

I'll be interested to see answers too. I've found some on Amazon but would love to hear if anyone on VF has experience or recommendations.

Yes I have the crossrope. It’s likely the least heavy one theY have. I do not use it often because the handles are too big for my hands and my grip needs to be a little different on a heavy rope. I think they are valuable for training but yes they are expensive. The weight is in the rope itself and at the time of my purchase, that was a unique feature. Other ropes just had weighted handles.

The recommendation for grip is to move the thumb from opposite to the same side as the rest of the fingers. Otherwise the could be injury in the thumb area. I am not able to discern whether there could be potential for injury because the handles are too thick for me to hold comfortably.

I use my rope from Buddy Lee most often but of course that’s a light rope.
