What should I do next?

Can it be all about me for a minute?

I have been very consistently inconsistent for years with my work outs. I mostly did The Firm in all its varieties. I had large gaps of not doing any exercise except reading this forum.

CoVID hit and with WFH I got 2 hours back that I didn’t have to commute and I started working out every day with Jessica Smith. Yay! Consistently working out for the first time in forever!! Ive done a few of her rotations. I feel like my fitness is improving (less winded) and I’m getting a bit stronger. But I’m getting a little bored. I could probably keep going but want to continue getting better and stronger.

What should I do next? I’m 61 and a bit overweight. (10-15 lbs) Would 21 day fix be too much? Should I do Pahla B? Fe Fit? I have tons of Cathe but none of her newer stuff. I was thinking of trying to find a Firm rotation?

What I like about Jessica is that it has been easy to ‘follow a rotation‘ and check it off the sheet of paper every day and the 30 minute format. She always kind of bugged me pre-Covid, but I have enjoyed her since April.

Let me know your suggestions.
Thanks
Liz

I also own a ton of KCM, Ellen barrette, all The Firm, a bunch of Margaret Richard ... you know... a typical VFer.

I mostly work out with Jessica Smith, but when I need variety I go to Pahla Bowers. I find her easier than Jessica, but it still seems effective.

I would try KCM. She's got some posted rotations that you can just check off. Plus, her workouts are around the same time frame.

+1 on bubbles rec of investigating KCM and her rotations and see if they feel similar to what you have been liking about Jessica's. She has so many and worksheets for her DVDs..

KCM or a FIRM rotation

I usually alternate between cardio, strength, and total body workouts (2 of each in a week). I am not a fan of the FIRM’s ab or stretch routines, so I might sub someone else’s.

Does your dvd player allow you to slow the speed of playback? I do that sometimes when I think the instructor's in too much of a rush. It increases the variety of workouts I can do.

Thanks for all the suggestions. My DVD player doesn't slow down unfortunately. I still don't know what I'll try. I'm going to look through the KCM rotations. I like the idea of using more weights.
thanks!

I'm 65 and have been picking up easier workouts lately to balance out the old advanced stuff. I like 21 day fix and recommend it.
