It is a Les Mills class and the instructors yesterday are both certified LM teachers. They did do Body Pump but kept throwing in songs from different releases. I think in class yesterday, all but two songs were NOT from the current release. They said it was for "something different" and "changes," and we did a track where we had to use our squat weight for lunges. It was...interesting. My preferred teacher generally sticks to the current release start to finish but changes out maybe one song when they're allowed to. Not sure how long it is at our gym/with Les Mills.

First, I am so sorry this happened to you and the others who have added their "horror teacher" stories.

Second, I would print your post (maybe the comments as well?) and give them (directly or indirectly) to the Wellness Director herself. Maybe she just doesn't realize how the supposedly "motivational yelling" is just the opposite: not motivating at all! If she doesn't realize it's broken, she can't fix it.

Rudeness is rudeness no matter where it takes place. Often we are unable to do anything about it, but in this case, I think you should say something. If that makes you uncomfortable, write a letter and send it. If she did this to you, she will do it to someone else.

That is horrible and absolutely inexcusable. I would have kneed him in the nuts.

yeaaaars ago I had a yoga instructor ask me to leave because I "was too fat" for her to tell if my form was correct

I'd love to see someone try that on me now! >

(not that I'm any smaller. I just won't put up with it!)

Better a few extra pounds than a shriveled heart and brain. Next time suggest that if her skill level as a so-called instructor is that lacking, she should go for some continuing ed. Throwing students out because you are an incompetent is typically considered poor form. Ha.
