how should I hook up TRX?

Hi All,

An old-time vidiot popping in here for a question....

I recently bought a TRX and want to use it to the fullest. I know that you can use the door anchor to do many upper body exercises. But for lower body work, I need to have more range of motion and not have a door in the way.

Does anyone have their TRX's suspended from a frame or a cage at home, similar to a gym setup? I don't trust my old house enough to install a ceiling anchor or a wall support.

Thanks for your insight!

My power rack is this style https://www.amazon.com/Barbell-Power...7031839&sr=8-5(may even be the same one, but it's a few years old and I don't remember it costing that much) and it works great for the suspension trainer. Just make sure you put enough weight on the back to counter balance it. It doesn't take much for me. I usually just keep weight plates and kettlebells on the back and corners. I think it's probably about 60-70 lbs of weight, but it may be different for you depending on the sturdiness of the rack.

Hi Stephanie,

Thanks for this suggestion. I was looking at this rack on Amazon tonight, too. Glad to hear of the endorsement.

My basement is unfinished. So I have the main, steel beam going across, a few inches below the ceiling.. I wrapped the TRX strap around it.

It's also very easy to put together and take apart! I have moved it several times (to different rooms in the same apartment and to a different apartment) and it's very straightforward.

I don't have a TRX but would love to have one and that rack.

When I take my bike ride I see someone has their's hooked up to their carport.

I loved using it at PT.
