Hmmmmm... Morning might be ideal, but I also find they're useful as a physical and/or mental energy boost throughout the day. They're also great for loosening up when I've been sitting too long (like in front of the computer). The only time I haven't done them is right before bed.
With the online version, the 5-day groupings are related to the elements: metal, water, wood, fire, and earth, though he doesn't talk about that in the videos. I like the quotes that come with each day, too.
