I'm definitely not advanced, so I wouldn't even consider it, but I'll look forward to your review, Yoni! I noticed that it's DVD-R, and it's available for download at www.workoutsDVD.com. Alla's Yoga on Hawaii looked good (for beginners-intermediates). If I'm going to get DVD-R, I'd rather pay less and download and burn my own. Thanks, yoni!

Yoni, I couldn't find anything about her yoga background so I'm not going to jump at this point.

This is my favorite line (from the ad copy at amazon):

"She studded yoga from Dharma Mittra, Andrei Lappa, Andrei Siderskij and other great yoga masters" (emphasis added).

That definitely makes her stud material in my book.

I should have checked amazon -- oops . She doesn't sound like my cup of tea. I love Dharma, or the idea of Dharma, -- but I don't want to be that kind of yogi. The Lappa thing kind of seals it.

These are definitely not up my alley either (much too advanced and much too intense!), but I couldn't resist pointing out the Freudian slip. Aligning one's self with big shots is definitely a way of establishing "stud credentials." I love reading book acknowledgments (in part) for this reason.

Intensity or extreme exertion in any sport doesn't appeal to me these days.

And, just being able to do yoga tricks isn't necessarily advanced. I loved the stud cred too.

I always read the acknowledgments -- it's the first page I turn to.

I just did this one this morning and it sucks big time. She looks to me like a ballerina that picked up yoga from a few workshops. She is flexible but not strong and her poses have horrific form.

Where do I start:
- She cues sometimes but not others so if you are in a pose and not looking at the screen you don't know that the pose changed
- very signsongy teaching voice
- virtually no instruction in the pose - no breath work- just "stretch this way" "other side" (she does do breath of fire once)
- poses are held very short
- several times she forgets to do poses on the other side.

Some redeeming qualities - I liked the music and the sequence would have been interesting if she actually taught it. The production values weren't too bad - different camera angles.

I like the people she studied with and thought she would be like them so I purchased this. Another waste!

Thanks for the review, Chris; at least you saved the rest of us some money!
