Oh yeah, the ring is definitely big enough for adult feet. I just had to remove my shoe to put it on. The rings on both styles were the same size. I tried it on at the store just to make sure.

As fluffydogfan noted, fear is a big component of the exercise (maybe that's what got my HR up so much). That thing gets whizzing around pretty fast!

Yes, Footsies! I was trying to remember what mine was 'cause I knew it wasn't a "Lemon Twist". I loved that thing too!

My kids have one of those. That's about the only toy they have that I will play with.

Me too! That poor plastic lemon was so scuffed up from hitting the cement.. .

I bought my niece one of the newer versions. Let's just say I'm a little slower now.

love this thread. we called it a "jingle jump" - is anyone old enough to remember that?

i think a few years ago, i bought one for the same reason (i do have kids, actually). it's somewhere in the closet, hanging with my resistance bands.

other really good kids' toys for exercising:

Pogo Moon Hopper - got mine at walmart for $17
homemade stilts (for balance)
chinese jump rope (plyos)
playground equipment (use the slide for lunges, back bends, cobra; bars for pullups; rubber ground surface for jogging/plyos)
jump rope
frisbee
jacks (eye hand coordination)
hop scotch
hula hoop (can use it like the lemon twist)

pricey (DH just got one of these):
The Slider

In, out, side, side, on the line, in, out. . . with a spin thrown in for good measure.

when's the last time you even saw kids outside playing with stuff like this? What a shame.

OMG, too weird -- I was JUST last night trying to describe this contraption to my DD. I LOVED this when I was 8 or 9 years old -- I'm so glad to hear they're still around. I'll have to hit up Target and check it out!

Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
