Tuesday's workout was

Walk - 25 minutes;
KCM - 30 MTF Muscle Endurance - Ab Workout - 10+ minutes

The ab workout from Kelly was brutual. I should have just done a short pilates routine. I would have liked it better. Some of KCM's moves didn't look very safe for those who weren't advanced exercisers - I say "look safe" because I did not do them. Couldn't have done some of them even if I had wanted to.

Donna - Yes, that is one of Kelly's newer workouts. I think it's from last year. And yes, if you do her streaming you get access to all of her DVDs as well. I think her streaming is pretty reasonable.

Brenda - wow, my knees would be crying. Yours are just really strong from all that stepping.

Linda - I'm also glad that the cherry extract works. No idea why!

Waves to all ~

Hi Everyone,

This morning it was back to Ellen:

Ellen - Prayer Flow - this is on her streaming site and is just a really nice workout - yoga inspired. (30 min)

Blessful Body - Fall into Balance - Day 3 - upper body and posture (18 min)

Jessica Valent - Shoulder Routine - (7 min).

I walked the doggie yesterday w/ my DD and plan to get some more of that done today!

Brenda - I'm w/ Carol - there is no way I could step for that long! If my knees survived, my hip flexors definitely would not! LOL!

Carol - I agree about KCM, I haven't done many of her workouts but I have seen some exercises that are just a definite "no" for me. I think Jessica Valent has a few like that too - like pistol squats - not gonna happen. I may look into trying KCM's streaming at some point....particularly if there is a free trial period or something.

Linda -Ana's PM pilates is a tougie!!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Donna I'm glad you mentioned that PM pilates is tough... I thought I was just being a wimp, lol.

Carol I dislike traditional ab work more as I get older. I try to engage my abs as much as possible when I lift weights and usually opt instead for pilates ab work.

Today was Amy Dixon's Breathless body #2 plus an extra cooldown from Men's health Circuit Workout. I felt like I needed more...or maybe I just missed David Jack .

I hope some of you join the VF gift exchange. It's so much fun

Have a wonderful Thursday!!

Wednesday's workout was

KCM - 30 MTF Total Body Kickboxing - Workout 1 - 10 minutes (before I Joni O-ed it);
Faithful Workouts - Hit it Hard for 25 - 25 minutes

I was like the Princess and the Pea. Nothing suited me, really. KCM's kickboxing was just not fun so I jerked it out of the DVD player. Michelle's workout was okay, but that's all. She raced through the moves with zero time to set up. The title should have tipped me off.

We are in the midst of a real CoVid surge in town. I shutter to think what it will be like after Halloween.

Linda - I seem to also remember that PM Pilates routine being hard and mis-named.

Donna - I think KCM does have some sort of a trial, but don't recall the details. She does put a lot of workouts up, I think.

Hi Everyone,

Quick post as I'm running late.

Today I did:

AngieFitness TV - Rock Solid Power walk - this was a basic indoor walking low impact routine. She starts w/ 130 bpm and goes up to 148, I think by the end. So sort of like Jessica's Pyramid Power walk, except you don't go down the pyramid, it is just up and then you slow down and cool down. Angie recommends weighted gloves or a weighted vest if you want to amp it up. I did enjoy it and decided I'm not afraid of Angie any more! I am not totally interested in following a set rotation right now, so I have bailed out on her Fit Over 40 series, but I think I will pop some of her workouts into my routine from time to time. She has a lot on her channel and I think she does 3 live workouts a week. She also sells programs on her website. Some of her workouts are on the longer side, but I have decided I can always cut them short....so...

Blessful Body - Fall into Balance - Day 4 - Pilates stretch.

Yesterday I walked my doggie for steps. Not sure if I will get the chance to do that today - DD and I have hair appointments....

Carol - they have cancelled halloween here - at least trick or treating b/c of COVID. We don't get many anyway and I think my DD is going to a horse show that day anyway. At least those are outside, and masks are mandatory, even outside (unless you are riding a horse).

Linda - I'm also not a fan of traditional ab work - I'd rather do standing work or Pilates

Waves, everyone

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday after our hair appointment DD and I walked in the park - so that was good. Since COVID, I started letting my hair grow out and I'm keeping it longer these days so it was just a trim, same for my DD. She went through a buzz cut phase in Sophomore/Jr year, but she has been letting it grow a bit, too. It was a nice fall afternoon/evening for a walk.

Today, so far, has been:

Jessica Valent Pilates - Cardio Barre w/ Guest Instructor Lauren George. This was a pretty challenging routine - more athletic than ballet style barre. The only thing I didn't like was it felt a bit fussy - gliding discs, a circular band and weights were used. I am not a big fan of gliding disc work - the flooring in my workout area doesn't work great w/ gliding discs. So, I modified for the exercises that use the discs. I did use the circular band and weights however and I think my legs will be feeling it tomorrow. I also did skip the floorwork b/c it also used a gliding disc and I wasn't in the mood for modifying at that point.
But, the floorwork is the last 10 minutes or so of the workout and easy to skip.

Blessful Body - Fall into Balance Challenge Day 5 - a little bit of everything - Pilates and Yoga. It was about 15 min or so.

Hope everyone has a good day - Happy Friday!!!

Thursday was a rest day and Friday's workout was

Jessica Smith - YT: Fusion Sculpt - 30 minutes

I really like Jessica's fusion workouts - I hope she releases some more fusion workouts with whatever she is working on.

Donna - I'm not a fan of gliding work either. I usually just do whatever exercise they are doing, without the gliders. Fall is my favorite time of year - our weather is usually glorious in the fall, that is, until it isn't.

No cancelling of Halloween here. Of course they are discouraging it, but people are going to do what people are going to do (which is not follow the guidance). We think that a group of our parents at school had a party last weekend because we went from 0 kids in quarantine on Monday to 20+ kids in quarantine on Friday, with multiple positives among our parent group. I think they thought that their zip code made them exempt from CoVid. Sigh! It's hard to find subs too. We have a couple of faculty members out in quarantine and need sub coverage for them, long-term. Most of our regular subs are older and aren't interesting in subbing this year. Another sigh!

Donna there are times that I feel like using tons of equipment ...and there are some days when I'm definitely a no go. That workout title made me laugh.."fall into grace", lol.

Carol you made me chuckle, too, re: the weather. Sorry to hear about all the troubles with getting substitutes.

Thursday was CS #617 Strengthen and slenderize which was very nice. Then yesterday I took a full rest day yesterday.

Hope you all enjoy your day today ...and hope you are doing well Dana, Christine, Cheri and Brenda !!

Saturday's workout was

Jessica Smith - YT: Fusion Mat Flow - 25 minutes

This was an older workout of Jessica's - I wasn't in the mood for anything (had my mind on working on homework), but at least I got it done.

Linda - Our weather is that way. It's either very, very good, or horrible. There's rarely an in between.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I missed yesterday's check in, here's what I have been doing:

Saturday:

Jenny Ford - You Tube - Live Step For Beginners - she filmed this outside of her home. I think she filmed these in April/May when everyone was in lock down. She has a few other longer and more intermediate/advanced workouts on her channel, too. I went w/ beginner b/c it has been awhile since I did step and it was also shorter at 30-ish minutes. I want to incorporate step at least once a week - it really ups my cardio more than march/walking workouts.

Jane Adams - Yoga for Beginners - Floor Practice - what can I say - a nice restorative practice, good scenery....

Outdoor walk

Sunday:

Ellen B - all from her streaming site - Upper Body Blast, Quick Fix (which is her new one for this month - all floorwork) and Zen Stretch

My DD is competing in a horse show today so in a little while I'll go over to watch and that will probably be it for me.

Hope everyone has a good day!!
