Great story, Tiffany. It's fascinating to hear highlights from those who lived in a different time.

My Mom didn't have electricity until she was 10. I remember my grandmother's eyes lighting up as she bragged about getting one of the first TV's in town. I would love to see what the world will look like in 100 years.

Thanks for posting that, Tiffany! I felt calmer just reading it!

Thanks for posting that story, Tiffany. Loved it!

I handle social media at work so I can't escape it entirely. The only personal account I have is Facebook, but I use a fake name and use it mainly to keep in touch with friends from high school and college and some former work colleagues. I also follow Jessica Smith and a few other fitness instructors. As soon as a friend starts posting comments that are stress inducing, I don't unfriend them, I just "snooze" them for 30 days so I don't have to look at it. If after that time they're still posting this stuff, then I unfollow, which means you're still connected but you just aren't seeing whatever they're posting. I've only had to do that once. You don't really have to quit social media entirely, you just have to be able to manage it, but I do understand why people would want to quit entirely.

I never had Facebook either. I am on the computer more like 8 hours since working from home. I miss casual conversations with coworkers. Since I am glued to a computer for work, Facebook has less appeal to me now more than ever.

I cleaned up my FB feed by unfollowing several people who were there to either lecture everyone or bait people into arguing. I also limited my social media time to 5-10 minutes a day to see what friends and family are up to. I did the same with Twitter.

It's made a world of difference.

The one thing I do like about Facebook and that I would probably miss is the little mini workouts on the Classical Stretch page.

The classical stretch facebook is public. You can get to it without a facebook account. I do them at work at lunch without logging into facebook.

I've unfollowed a lot of people on FB. My problem is you tube videos, I spend too much time there.

Tiffany, thanks for posting the article.

The secret to enjoying FB is to unfriend anyone who insists on posting politics. Even family. Especially family.
