I'm feeling frustrated right now. I picked up my WaterRower today and when I got it home I discovered the tank leaks. I guess that's what happens when you order something off Craigslist. I looked up the troubleshooting guide online and it seems like it should be a fairly easy repair. I had to order a glue kit to re-seal it and that cost $30. In the end it will still be a good deal for a rower that retails over $1,000, but I'm disappointed I have to wait 7-10 days for the glue kit to come in the mail so I can get it fixed.

I wish I had a rower. If I ever win the lottery, I'm going to buy an Endless Pool and a Concept 2 rower.

One of the biggest things I've learned with Craigslist is to test things before you buy them. I really lucked out several years ago and got a Waterrower for just $75. The seller was asking $150 and I a bit brazenly asked him if I could get it for $75. He wrote back that if I could pick it up that day, I could have it at that price. It was in his gym and he just wanted it out of there. I even got a repair kit which included various tools and the owner's manual, a nice touch. Even though I'd driven about 100 miles, I made sure I tested it out first before buying and it was fine. Even as I write this like 4 years later, I'm still amazed I got such an amazing deal.
One word of caution, be very careful with the tank. I store mine in a closet when not in use and I make sure to watch the tank so it doesn't get banged up as I put it away. On the plus side, it's a great machine. I've had cheaper rowers in the past and there's no comparison. I hope you really enjoy it.

The person I bought it from said he'd had the tank empty for at least a year because he hadn't been using it. He filled it up with a small amount of water for me to do a quick test when I picked it up. He said he didn't want to fill it too much so it would make it easier to transport. But he must have known that if he filled it more it would start sloshing out. So I guess I got duped a bit. There aren't any cracks in the tank, it's just water coming out of the seam. And everything else seems to be in good condition. I ordered the glue kit from WaterRower for $20 plus shipping. It seems like a relative easy fix to re-seal it. I paid $300 for it. Seemed like a good deal for a rower that retails for almost $1,100.
