I also liked "Gavin and Stacey."

I wish I could come up with something more recent.

Has anyone watched the show "Casualty?" That looked interesting. I am also curious about "Murder in Suburbia."

Sissy-all the seasons of "Fat Friends" are available to stream from Amazon They aren't free, but at least they are available.
If you have Amazon Prime, it looks like there are some British series available for free-I am in trouble!

Also, there is service through Amazon streaming called "Acorn TV" which has a lot of British shows. They have a free trial.
I may try it in the winter. There is a LOT on there. It looks very interesting. After the 7 day free trial, it costs $4.99 a month, which is reasonable. I have pretty much given up on most new American shows, so I may try it out.

Acorn TV does have all five seasons of the show "Cold Feet."

Little Britain was hilarious and somehow Little Britain was even better!

The IT Crowd is funny, the two male characters in it are perfection.

I still watch Keeping Up Appearances which seems to be shown on a continuous loop on the PBS channels around here!

Also love Absolutely Fabulous. Their new movie just came out, but is only playing at select theaters and none are near me.

What has always amazed me about British TV is they have a lot of older characters on their shows, unlike the US where people over 50 don't exist. Almost the entire cast of Keeping Up Appearances were over 50 when that show ran.

I have noticed that too, and they look like real people!

My BF makes this comment every time we watch a British movie. They use "real" actors that don't look like models.

We don't get the good cable, so we depend on PBS to see some of these. I've just been re-watching Inspector Lewis on dvd from the library. I really like Call the Midwife (and liked the book I read, but didn't read them all)

Really liked Foyle's War as it was airing, but haven't felt motivated to re-watch.

Endeavor is a good one too.

And what a bummer that BBC America is not good. It's on one of the more expensive cable tiers, so we don't get it, but I would like to see some of the dramas as they air. As it is, I wait for our library to get them on dvd.

Orphan Black is good, but isn't it Canadian? (or something?) Kind of dark and creepy/bizarre.

Sherlock is the only "new" series I watch.

Older comedy:
Keeping up Appearances
Miranda
Vicar of Dibley
Blackadder
Last of the Summer Wine

No one has mentioned Luther yet. It's on Netflix. Though Idris Elba doesn't look very much like a average guy to me.

The Fall on Netflix was very good. Filmed in Belfast.

Second for Acorn TV on Amazon Prime, add-on subscription. First month is free and there is quite a bit to watch if you like these dramas.

Line of Duty
Black Work
Chasing Shadows
Single-Handed

Were a few new ones I found there.

I also like the Scandinavian dramas if you can take sub-titles. The Swedish version of The Bridge was excellent. I bought all seasons on Amazon UK. It was above and beyond the US version. Netflix and Amazon prime have a few others.

Graham Norton on BBC America is good. There was a series on there called Prey that I liked but there hasn't been much else recently.

(This is what I do while rebounding.)
