Imagine doing a body scan and noticing and relaxing one body part at a time in sequence. It seems similar to me.
For me it's mostly about focusing my attention to my back/spine and moving slowly and smoothly from bottom to top, or vice versa. Stretching/being attentive to my muscles one section at a time is most of it. Sorta like a cat stretching or a snake or worm wiggling along.

I love this thread title !! I've wondered the same thing for years. And I would keep trying. Definition of insanity - doing the same thing over and over and getting the same results ... But really I kept thinking if only I keep trying - lol!

Thanks for raising this issue, Susan. OVAAT (rhymes with oh that) has always bugged me. It's physically impossible, at least on the mat. It does make sense to me when resuming an upright position after a toe touch and I can feel my spine slowly lengthening, OVAAT--but only then.
