Cardio with shoulder injury

Hi there,
I have a left rotator cuff issue that I can no longer ignore (seeing physio today), and I'm wondering if there are any cardio workouts that don't involve too much shoulder?? I can still hold a plank and do burpee type stuff, but cannot punch out in front or put my arm directly over my head.
Any suggestions appreciated!
Stacey

How about step or walking workouts?

ETA:You could probably do circuit style workouts if you modified (no weights) and arms raised no higher than shoulder level. Or even something with athletic drill type exercises.

My first thought was step aerobics. Maybe some hi/lo or dance, as long as you don't raise your arms over your head.

I had that problem too. Just avoid overhead movements.

I went to physio yesterday and it's not as bad as I thought, it's not rotator cuff, it's impingement syndrome. Rest upper body for 3 to 5 days, and do special strengthening exercises as my shoulder muscles are weak, which seems strange to me as I work out so much.

Glad it wasn't as bad as you expected. Females in general are weak in the upper body compared to men. But yeah, it makes no sense when so many instructors seem to overwork the shoulders in their workouts.

Do you alternate the style of lifting that you do? Heavy vs Light, etc. Maybe you need a change, whether type of exercise or method? Body weight or kettlebells? Or, just cross training with something different.
