OT: Losing things...

I am really upset. My daughter gave me a pair of earrings last week for my birthday that I had been wanting for some time. I wore them last week, and this morning when I went to my jewelry box to get them, they were not there. I have turned my house upside down, and they're not here. I don't want to tell my daughter I lost them.

PS: I am afraid one of my labs may have gotten them somehow.

Have you checked your pockets? I lost a beloved pair of earrings, also a gift. I searched everywhere! I mentioned it to my mom, and she told me how she found a pair of her earrings in the washing machine, all nice and clean. I decided to check my laundry basket, and lo and behold, there were my earrings awaiting the same fate- in my pants pocket.

I wish the same happy ending for you!

Could you have taken them off in your vehicle and placed them in there, or your purse?

My mom taught me this when I was a wee one. “St Anthony please come down something’s lost that can’t be found”. I still say it....but only use it for the biggies. Even as a kid I hated to call St Anthony down for a hair clip or something like that.

this happened with a pair of prescription glasses. I ended up buying another pair.

fast forward 8 months, I found it in a plastic bag that contained literature from a college and career fair that we attended with DS16.

This has happened to me a few times. I remember searching & searching for a book (a book about fairies, funnily enough) and firmly asking for it to be returned. A day or two later, I found the book in an odd place where I am sure I had already looked.
