Question What are your favorite hiking socks?

I have some old Thorlos that have about had it and need new hiking socks.

I know that SmartWool are pretty good and DarnTough. (And, yikes, quality hiking socks are freaking expensive per pair!)

Our Costco never has their Kirkland Signature brand wool hiking socks, so that is a no go.

What brands do you like with moderate cushioning?

It depends upon the time of year but I like a very thin wicking sock under a heavier sock. How heavy depends upon the season. I do like thorlos. They have various thicknesses.

If you know you like the Kirkland socks, you can get them on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Kirkland-Sign...QBY?th=1&psc=1

I got the Kirkland socks from the Costco web site, and I love them.

I love Kirkland socks for everyday wear. For hiking it’s Smartwool and for snowshoeing or cross country skiing I wear a nylon pair of socks underneath my larger smartwool socks, for the extra warmth. Smart wool socks are expensive, but they last a long time. When they get thin and loss the cushioning, they become everyday socks.

You mentioned my favorites- Darn Tough & Smart Wool. They might be expensive but they last forever.
