I stored them in the linen closet for a while but for the last year I prefer to have them all on the dining room table ready for use (it's a big table and a tiny apartment and that is where I exercise). Of course with the forest fire smog I am not exercising at all this summer, and won't until the air clears. I learned 9 years ago not to ever put weights on the floor. One time I ran into one barefoot and broke a toe. They are made of cast iron.

Thanks again all for the suggestions. The new carpet is in and my dumbbells are housed on a puzzle mat. I took two mats and stacked them and placed the dumbbells on the mat. So far it seems to be working well, if the mats get dented that is okay just want to keep the carpet nice. But I will keep the racks that folks suggested in mind should I decide to get one in the future. But the mats was a good idea in a pinch.
Thanks again! |

My 8 and 10 lb dumbbells go on the bottom bar 3, 4, 5, 6 lb dumbbells go on the sides Next to the dumbbell rack I have something similar to this for all my DVDs. I eventually replaced the flimsy drawers with baskets and it looks so much nicer. https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/sto...m%20essentials

I just got this rack and I love it! It has a shelf on the top for kettlebells, ankle weights or balls. The 'handles' on the side can hold plates or bands. It's really sturdy and holds pretty much all my equipment.
