I've always liked the tattoos on the back of a woman's neck. It can be hidden if she has longer hair. I saw a lovely butterfly tattoo that tempted me to have one like that.

My hair is too short to try that now.

I don't have any tattoos. I don't like them. I never saw the appeal. I also never understood why someone would get a tattoo in a place that they, themselves, can't see it. Like the back of your neck or your back. If you go to the expense and pain of getting one, don't you want to be able to admire it?

Penny, my daughter passed away in 2009. Ever since, I sign things like family holiday cards with a small heart with an N (her initial) in the middle. I've thought about getting a tattoo of that, or a blue butterfly basically to celebrate all the $hi! I've risen above since then.

Well, I wear earrings that I can’t see but I know they’re there. I fix my hair and can’t see the back of it but I know it’s there. It’s just a way to express yourself these days. It’s like anything else you do, say or wear to tell others a bit about yourself only it’s a picture, symbol or statement that is a permanent part of your body, perhaps like your smile.
