Pam, you are welcome! Like Paine suggested, I definitely borrowed from Erich.

Linda, I think I remember you saying that you had a worse response to your flu vaccine this year. Years ago when I was getting mine through work, the nurse told me that moving my arm around after (including above my head) would help my arm to feel less sore. Now I do it every time and it definitely does help me! There have been times I've gotten the shot and have been able to sleep on that side with no discomfort that same night. And although I had some arm discomfort with the Shingrix vaccine, that part wasn't bad at all.

Happy Friday!!! I always feel a sense of TGIF no matter what kind of week it's been.

Eccentrics

Yesterday was an unplanned rest day. My motivation to workout is still lousy.
My motivation to workout has been rotten since the first lockdown with the pandemic but it doesn't make sense because I have so much to be thankful for--my family is healthy and no one has lost their jobs. So I'm not sure what my problem is but it makes me feel disappointed in myself. On the other hand, I'm glad I was able to do some strength work with Margaret this morning!

Beth, Happy Friday back at ya! It's supposed to be 80 degrees and sunny today.

Linda, you will eventually recover from surgery and be glad you had it done.

Paine, being grateful does not eliminate sadness and grief! You are too hard on yourself. (And actually, our motivation tends to go DOWN when we beat ourselves up.) Great that you did some MR today!

((Paine)) - I agree with Beth, try not be hard on yourself. This is a very stressful time for many reasons! I am grateful that my family & friends are all healthy, but I still have this nagging fear in the back of my mind. And I feel like if I stop moving, I’ll just slide down the wall in a heap.

Beth - Yes your first exercise in the strappy practice really reminded me of Erich. It’s such a good shoulder mobilizer.

We are going to the city for a few nights just for a change of scenery. We got an amazing deal at a lovely hotel right on the harbour. I suspect it will be like a ghost town. We will do some walking, visit with the family outdoors, and eat out a bit if the restaurant set up feels right. Otherwise it will be takeout. No group yoga or barre classes for me yet. Our cases remain low, but we remain cautious.

Pam, yes! I do that one in my classes a lot (well, at least I did when we could use props... :/). That's nice that you are getting away! I would love to do an overnight somewhere but DH feels that he wouldn't be able to enjoy it/relax due to the pandemic restrictions.

Paine - HUGS. You still have a right to feel down despite having so many gratefuls. So much going on - so much sadness, so much fear, so much If it's any consolation, my whole week has been like that. I've done nothing but short yoga. Maybe we will feel better next week - fingers crossed!

Yesterday was a chiropractor visit and he went gangsta on me. It was worth it though, things are much better today. Last night I did a Felicia Tomasko practice, restorative back bends for the heart chakra, and a long inversion.

TGIF - sending hugs wherever needed.

Beth, Pam and Pat, thank you for your support and kind words. This is not at all what I expected to happen when we moved here so it's been a disappointment. 1 in 3 Los Angeles County residents have been infected with covid19, which is daunting to think about.

Pam, enjoy your visit with family and time in the city!

Pat, I'm glad you're feeling better today.

Beth, thanks for the amusing read about 2021!

Hi!

No formal workout yesterday or today, but this morning I did get in yet another long outdoor walk. Will be leaving for work shortly.

Linda: The boys are doing fine, and they thank you for asking. I've never tried squeezy balls for my hands. I just got Lee Holden's newish DVD Qi Gong For Arms, Wrists & Hands via interlibrary loan as I am curious. I think you should just rehab yourself! You know your body and your abilities better than anyone.

Yogapam: Have a lovely trip!

Paine: I think of you all the time when I see the news about how hard Covid has hit the L.A. area. Your finding the situation discouraging is totally understandable. I know that I often feel the same, even though I personally have been minimally affected compared to so many others. We'll hang in there together -- and together we'll get through this!

Waving to all!
