Crone Cronies - The Only Thing I’m Growng This Spring Is Older & More Irritable. 3/28

The Cronies is a place for women who are mature in age or attitude. The group is highly diverse in that we have ages ranging from 30s to 60s, some are moms, some are single, some are teachers/professors, and some have jobs and work outside the home and some don’t. We do our own thing and are happy when life doesn’t get in the way too often. Some are training for a marathon, some don’t even do vids, you get the picture.

Life and exercise are what we report. A thread is started every Sunday. Some report every day, others whenever they can.

Bottom line: we are a diverse group and very supportive of each other’s goals. Oh, and we’re funny as heck. If you’d like to join us, just come on down.

So, we're back to Maxine this week.

I'm going to swing by Mom and Dad's late this morning to pick up some catfish. Dad made a batch of his really, really good catfish yesterday and apparently they had too much, so, as a good daughter, I'm going to help them out and take some off their hands.

I hope to get more done on my craft room. I do have one more big category to move to the craft room, stencils. I am going to try to set up bars on the wall to hang them from and hope to get that done today. In the dining room, the staging area, there's not much left to move other than the stencils. But I do have a bunch of empty boxes I had saved in case I needed them and a bunch of little things that have no easy home.

Everyone have a good day.

Here are some possible themes for upcoming weeks. After the first one, it's back to Maxine.

Crone Cronies - Easter egg hunts prove kids can find things when they really want. 4/4

Crone Cronies - There’s a really good reason “wet dog” isn’t sold as a scent. 4/xx

Crone Cronies - I might work on my lawn but can’t decide: concrete or gravel? 4/xx

Crone Cronies - It’s spring! Time to show off those tattoos! 4/xx

Thank you for getting us started, Laura! Maxine cracks me up!

Today should be cool but sunny - planning on giving Gus a nice walk this morning. A friend is celebrating a baby shower this afternoon, so I'll be on FB for that - it's not in person. I also need to stop by the hardware store to pick up some seasonal stuff like a new furnace filter.

Laura, so how is your parent's catfish prepared - breaded, fried, baked? I don't think I've eaten much catfish in the past. Yay on making progress in the craft room!

Paula, I know that turtle is FAST! I'm careful around it and use a net or stick to reach things in the tub rather than reaching my arm or fingers - we did have someone get bitten badly when they were scraping some dead insects off the filter with a finger . I consider my home a young one in this neighborhood - 49 years old. Most of the neighborhood was built in the early 1900s. My home replaced an older home that had a house fire. I am glad how "young" this home is . I hope all goes well working with your contractor - it really helps with the timing and arranging of the workers coming in!

Waves to all (from >6 feet apart)!

Good evening. Workout this morning was Pahla B Body Shaping Day 6 Cardio Toning followed by Yoga with Kassandra Morning Day 28.

Today was grocery day and I made multigrain rolls - they are on the cooling rack now.

Laura, thanks for getting us started. I agree with Maxine - I feel the same lately. What a good daughter you are taking that nasty catfish off your father's hands. Hope you made good progress on the craft room. On the potential themes, the last one gave me a good laugh.

Anita, glad you're wise enough not to put your hands in that turtle enclosure! Well if your house is young at 49 then mine is a mere teenager. Yeah, I have my fingers crossed this remodel will go smoothly and quickly.

Good morning!

Today should be a sunny, warm, but windy day with temps near 70! I'll be visiting a upholstery specialist to see if anything can be done with my couch - price depends on materials, so I'll go into his store to look. He's only a few blocks away from here so I'll walk there. Gus walk planned for today also and Spades playing tonight. Otherwise putzing around out back in the yard. There's a lot I can't do yet because we still might get some snow coming, so no gardening cleanup, no porch cleanup and no porch covering yet - haven't attached the hose yet or turned on water.

Laura, I didn't see your proposed titles for next week when I wrote yesterday - thanks for putting that together!

Paula, I'll be heading to the grocery store today also - it'll be a local Target run. I'm pretty much caught up with major remodels with my house - I don't know if the remodeling frequency is at the age of our houses needing it. Seems like the older homes in our neighborhood from the early 1900's don't go through remodeling every 25 years.

Waves to all (from >6 feet apart)!

It's a cooler beautiful day here - really bright and sunny. It has been a super busy day. I went to a check-in with my rheumatologist. On the way home, I stopped to pick up an order at Publix and they didn't have one thing from the deli ready, so I took everything home and went back to pick it up. We had lunch and then I went for a pick-up at Walmart. In a few minutes, I'll take DH to his chiropractor appointment. And I have a Zoom tutoring session tonight.

Anita - The catfish is breaded and significantly spiced and then fried. My parents lived in northern areas much of their adult lives, but they are from Mississippi and Oklahoma. Catfish is fried when you are from Mississippi and/or Oklahoma!

Paula - Yeah, I keep finding more areas in my craft room to go through. This weekend, I got into the closet I hadn't been in for a long time and cleaned out a lot of stuff. Multigrain rolls sound good.

Good morning!

Planning on walking Gus and enjoying my day - it's back to normal temps in the mid-40s today. The upholstery guy will need to stop by my house to look and measure my couch - that'll happen in about ten days (he's off to FL on vacation and family stuff). I might attach a hose to my house and wash off my porch cover on the driveway. I do finally have a Covid shot scheduled for Thursday! This will be a J&J one shot trip - yay!

Laura, I think I'll be starting to hit several grocery stores to get everything for the week also. Lots of stuff is out of stock at the Target. on your catfish!

This morning, I ran a few errands - picked up prescriptions, stopped by the chiropractor, and exchanged library books. This afternoon, I had a Zoom tutoring session, and it lasted only a few minutes. He just wanted to review what we did last time. It was a picture-perfect day, bright and sunny without a cloud in the sky and in the 70s, so we went on a walk around the neighborhood pond. This evening, I have a Zoom call with a friend. It will be good to catch up with her.

Anita - Yay! It's great that you found an appointment. It will be nice to have the one and done. Your colder weather is headed this way. We'll be in the 50s after the storms roll through here tomorrow, and then it will be chillier.

Good evening. Sorry I was MIA yesterday - the day just melted away. Workout this morning was Pahla B Body Shaping day 8 Strength followed a full body stretch with Tamilee Webb.

Anita, I know the remodeling I'm doing is because at the age of my home - it really needs it. We've done a little of this and a little of that over the years but nothing major in the bathrooms and they need the attention. Goodness knows my home hasn't gone through remodeling every 25 years. Lots of stuff is out of stock at my Target too. Other stores as well - in fact none of the stores I usually shop at are as well stocked as in the past.

Laura, I am so impressed you cleaned out a closet. Our back closet has been in dire need of cleaning out for years. Every now and then we get the urge to clean and sort it out, we get started and everything I want to donate DH wants to keep and vice versa and so we've got way too much stuff in that closet.
