Travel yoga mat

I apologize if there are threads out there, but in my search I saw a handful of old threads on this topic. I figured it was worth asking again, especially since there more mats out on the market these days...

Anyway, I am visiting family overseas for about two months and the only hope of me getting regular workouts in is probably daily yoga - maybe I'll finally do the Ultimate Yogi rotation!

Taking my Manduka Pro is probably a no since it will take up precious luggage weight/space. So what's the latest and greatest in lightweight/travel mats? I have a few yogitoes mat towels but I don't think that's going to do the trick.

I'm looking at Manduka's eko lite and eko superlite travel mats, but they have some new ones I'm not familiar with - Manduka x and a welcome mat. I'm familiar with Manduka but open to other brands/suggestions...

Good morning!

Rather than taking a mat with you, can buy one over there?

You can leave the mat there and maybe seeing you use it will motivate someone else.

An idea to consider and save you the stress of toting a mat.

Safe travel.

if you're staying at a hotel, they might have mats there (hopefully cleaned each day for you) that you could use?

otherwise, the suggestion DCW had about buying one there might work.

I bought a Khataland foldable yoga mat for travel. It's extra long and extra thick and comes in a little mesh carrying bag with handles. It still takes up a decent amount of space in a travel bag, about as much as a bath towel. I'd recommend that mat if you have space for it; if not, buying at your destination is a good idea.

I have one like this that I've taken with me when I have room in my suitcase:

But I've also done what DCW suggested, brought an inexpensive one with me or bought one at my destination & left it behind.

I am staying at my grandma's and I don't want to chance it. I know the small village she lives in and I doubt there is a yoga mat within a 50 mile radius. lol Thank you all for your suggestions!! I will look into all of those!!
