I hadn't heard of J. Brown until a recent reference on a yoga teachers group to to his upcoming training "Gentle is the New Advanced." His stuff sounds great! He has a lot of interesting talks on his YouTube channel, although I wish he included at least a few brief practice segments.

Anna--sometimes I wonder if I'm tiresome when I yap about yoga DVDs I really like. I'm glad J. Brown resonates with you.
I generally do his 60 minute practice, but then, I'm retired and have time. I never skip the relaxation. It's terrific, and I love the guitar music.

Not Anna, but I'm sure I'm not alone with this opinion. I enjoy reading your detailed and thoughtful posts.

Oh, no, you're enabling others, it's a good thing. I don't think I'd have ever found his dvd without the postings here. It's kind of obscure, and doesn't seem to be linked to on his own website. I don't remember it ever coming up on Amazon for me when randomly browsing yoga dvds. Yup! Me too. I enjoy reading about how others have found things that work really well for them. Even if it's ultimately not for me, I do appreciate the shared insights.

Aww ... thanks, Anna and Cyana!
J. Brown is kind of obscure. He used to have his own studio, but no longer does. Guess it got too $$$ in New York City. I think he's a really good teacher and his practices are quite accessible--you don't have to be advanced or bendy/twisty. I see from his website that he is offering live streaming classes. I have his blog bookmarked too. I also like reading about other people's practices. I'm always glad to see people finding a yoga practice that works for them, whatever it is. I've discovered some really good instructors who are new to me by reading other people's posts.
