I can’t remember if I posted this before but I’ve been listening to a free Qigong summit, hosted by Robert Bowley with 21 interviews from qigong experts. Most of them I haven’t heard of, except for Marisa (YoQi), Mimi Kuo-Deemer, Francesco Garripoli and David Dorian-Ross. Not all of it is qigong. One is on Feldenkrais and a couple on mind-body connection. It’s a bit of a hit and miss; some are good, others not so great. I think today is Day 7 with Marisa.

So far, there’s been a free gift, such as a meditation or further reading material/information from each interviewee.
Here’s the link, just in case anyone is interested.

I am hopelessly behind! Can't seem to climb out of this rut. It feels like I'm so busy and not having time for my activity, but it also feels like I'm resting too much in my "free" minutes. You could say I've been reading too much.

Sadhana Day 31 - another blah day, just a short meditation to try to motivate myself to workout but I fell asleep.

Day 32 - beach walk and nature meditation.

Day 33 - blissful two hour restorative yoga workshop.

Day 34 - awareness meditation, still in the zone from restorative yoga; otherwise nothing formal.

I'll try to be better during the week. Hugs and waves to everyone!

Luckily the rain let up when our piano was delivered. It is beautiful! Now to find a piano tuner

Yesterday was just yoga and meditation on my own. I tweaked my back and shoulder (sigh). I will do gentle yoga today.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Cyana, I will try to remember to type and post the quiche recipe. I'm sorry I haven't done it yet.

Today:
Holden 1.10.2020 Class - There were new students in this class (the classes are filmed so you don't see the students, only Lee), so Lee spent a few minutes talking about qi gong and how Chinese practitioners weren't paid if their clients got sick - too bad the US medical system doesn't work that way!
MFML - Tune In Tune Up: Third Eye - Andrew Kwiatkowski
MFML - Sun Salutations for Everybody - Adam Hocke
YT - Jessica Smith - 12 Minute Power Walk posted 5.3.2014

Sherry - No worries about the recipe - just whenever you get to it is fine. I probably wouldn't try it before next week-end. I was wondering if you're getting "curl collapse"? I'm definitely having to spritz my curls every morning with the colder weather and lower humidity most days. Hooray for the rain stopping so your beautiful piano could be safely delivered.

Pat - I'm not sure too much reading is a real condition. I love to read, and I feel there's never enough time. A beach walk and meditation sounds divine - wonderful medicine.

Pam - Hope you had a good needling session today (or at least I think today was the day!). Is YC Yoga Collective? I swear I can't keep up with all the streaming options these days.

Margot - I wish I could come over for an assessment/testing. I haven't been to the UK in many years, so I'm long overdue.

Busy week.....going to wind it down early this evening. Sleep well, my friends.

Hello yoginis!

Today was a rest day of sorts after my needling session this morning. I went to a gentle hatha/restorative class by the fire. It was lovely, less intense stretches than yin along with some restorative poses.

Cyana - I did indeed get needled with a few zingers today. I’m still a work in progress, I think that’s a permanent of state of being for me, lol! Yes, YC is the Yoga Collective. I got a crazy Groupon deal from them. It has some interesting practices, but can’t begin to compare with MFML. Here’s the link to the groupon if anyone is interested:

Pat - Sorry you’re in a rut, mid winter is a tough time of year. I’d say that reading is good and a productive use of time. I have two books on the go right now. I’m not sleeping great so using my old Kobo reader at bedtime rather than my kindle or tablet as the Kobo isn’t backlit. It’s more like a book.

Sherry - Enjoy your piano & hope your shoulder is okay.

Waves to all!

Good evening everyone!

Yesterday DH and I hiked for 3 1/2 hours in Sara Park. We took a picnic lunch and ate down by the lake. On the way back, we went through Sara’s Crack; an extremely narrow canyon, which ended up being like an assault course, having to climb over boulders that you couldn’t even see over and at one point, having to climb up a rope, there not being able to get any footholds in the rock. We were told halfway up, that most people come down the crack as it’s much easier! Of course, we did the opposite! Apart from a bruise on my leg and almost doing the splits a few times, I was really proud of myself at the end. In the evening, I did a lot of my own yoga stretches.

Today was:
- 90 minute walk along the lakeshore
- Brett Larkin Detoxifying Twists (YT). I bought her Abundance journal while I was here and it looks like it’s well done.
- Lee Holden Jan 20th class

Sherry - Thank you for the book link. Sorry you tweaked your back and shoulder. Hope you feel better soon. How did the cats like your new piano?

Pam - Thank you for the link to YC. It’s always fun to try out something new.

Cyana - You had some great workouts today. Lee has been in Dubai for quite a while now. I’m looking forward to hearing all about his trip on his return.

Pat - I’m doing this energy program for Winter and Prune says how this is a time for quiet and nurturing, so I think you’re doing just what your body needs at the moment. It feels like Summer here and my energy is high but I expect when I get back next week into the cold, I’ll be slowing down a lot.

Waves to Jackie.

Good morning! I had a bit of a yoga reset last night and feel a little less grumpy afterward. It was a constructive rest and recharge:

Sadhana Day 35:
~ PT;
~ Healthy Decisions meditation with Elena Brower while inverting;
~ Meet Stress with Self-Compassion meditation with Felicia Tomasko;
~ Setting the System yin practice, also with Felicia

Margot what a hike! I'm glad you got out without spraining an ankle. My DH would have a "crack" to make about Sara's Crack, for sure. Good job, that was a real test of your fitness.

Pam it sounds like you had a very nice yogic reset too. There's a lot to be said for a good restorative session. I hope your dry needling helps.

Cyana how interesting about qigong practitioners not receiving payment if the clients do not have results. I think hairdressers should be paid on a sliding scale depending on how well your hair comes out.

Wow Sherry, a piano! What type of piano is it? Do any of you play?

So here's where I stand with the Husafell stone. I got up the courage to haul it into the kitchen on Saturday, and had some chicken tenders and a sweet potato to cut up into fries for it. It was a struggle to get it from LR to kitchen and up onto the stove, where I cook with the IP because of our limited counter space. The "basket" and "cake pan" are very small compared to the bulk of the machine. 7" across and 1" deep! To feed a family you have to cook in batches. I packed it all back up and posted photos on Facebook marketplace and Nextdoor, hopefully I get a buyer. (Don't tell anyone but I do not believe for one minute you can rotisserie cook a chicken in it - maybe a Cornish hen at best.)

In the future I might try a small model from BJ's but these big guys need to be left to sit on the counter, assuming you have counter space for it.

Good morning to Jackie and anyone else who visits today.
