Angry Watching 20/20 right now and I feel like my brain is going to explode

They are showing a doctor sewing a patch onto people's tongues to keep them from eating normally for a month while they "prescribe" 800 calorie liquid diets in order to crash diet. ARRRRGGGHHH! These are doctors?

DH just changed the channel for fear I'd blow a gasket.

It's amazing what people are willing to go through to try to avoid overeating.

After seeing this and this, I'm no longer surprised at ridiculous lengths people go to for weight loss.

I read about the tongue sewing on the tongue about a month ago and was stunned. The absolutely scary part is that doctors are doing this! WOW!!!! My goodness!!!!!

I can't even believe what I just watched, that was sickening on so many levels, I had not heard of either of these "methods".

I saw it too, I refused to look up as I was working on the computer, but then I forgot that I wasn't looking at the TV and looked up to see a gross bloody tongue with cross hatches on it. Nasty. And besides, nachos are good for you. At least that's what I tell myself.

I can't imagine the pain. I had my tongue pierced for many years, and I can say that I did not feel the piercing coming through the bottom of my tongue as you apparently have no nerve endings inside your tongue. It's when they come through the top where the little bumps I call "taste buds" are - that's where the pain comes in. So tongue stitching? NO THANKS!
