I get to be in Debbie Siebers' new workouts!!!

I hesitated at first about tooting my own horn here, but I just have to share my excitement with all you VFers because as much as my real live friends and family love me, they just don't have any idea how exciting this is and what an amazing opportunity this will be!

If any of you didn't know, Beachbody had a Slim in 6 Idol contest last month and said to submit a 5 minute interview video and another 5 minutes of doing part of Burn It Up. Somehow that little amount of filming took me 2 days to get just right, but I FedEX'd my video and photos overnight just in time for the deadline and have just waited and wondered if it would get me anywhere since.

On Wednesday I got an e-mail saying that they were thrilled to have an overwhelming response, thanked us all for applying and said that they would contact the winners in the next few weeks. They also said to check the Beachbody website to see the new cast members posted. I wasn't really sure what that meant, but just started invisioning all the beach bodies who were probably going to win (long, blonde bikini-clad 20somethings - - not that there's anything wrong with that -- it's just not me

)

Then yesterday I got an e-mail saying I was one of the top 10 finalists and that 4 would be chosen from us top 10. I couldn't believe it! I was given a 2 week span of when they might film and was asked to call ASAP to let them know if those dates were good for me. Miraculously, they were just perfect - - after the Halloween hoopla, after my daughter's ear specialist visit down at Stanford (7 hours away) and just barely before my dd's ear surgery (also that far away).

I called all excited, fully expecting to get a formal conversation, but the woman at BB was just as happy to talk to me as I was with her. She told me that Debbie had just left her office, said to say "hi" etc. She even told me that Debbie had watched several videos of the workouts and many just couldn't do it or had bad form, etc. And when she saw mine, she nodded her head and said something like "She's got it" -- how fun is that??? (I told her my body just must be on auto-pilot with SS form because I've done them sooooooooo many times

)

I asked her why there were only 4. I thought there would be more like 40 because I thought when they said we'd film with Debbie in her new workouts that we'd be in one of those massive classes like they have on the Slim in 6 infomercials with Debbie in front and a ton of women behind - -just for tid bits of filming in the infomercial. But she told me that there were 4 because it was like Debbie's other videos -- just a few background exercisers in the cast. In the cast??? I had no idea I had applied to actually be in THE workouts! What an amazing opportunity.

So of course, my mind was racing with excitement for the rest of the night. And when my dh asked me if I'd be sadder if I didn't get it when so close in the top 10 or if I'd rather just not be in the top 10 and I told him (I sound like I'm in the Miss America pageant or something saying how great it is to be a runner up

) that it really would be an honor just to know that the Beachbody people thought I was in the top 10.

She told me it might be a few days before we got the final results, but today I got another e-mail saying that I'm actually in the cast -- in the top 4!!! She said that I'll be getting a travel itinerary soon -- I already got the breakdown of what we'll be doing each day. And I'll get sample videos of each workout after the end of the month, with instructions to rehearse them in front of a mirror so I can make sure I do the moves right and to see if I'm making any strange faces, not smiling enough, etc. WOW!

As for the workouts (I know this is what everyone REALLY wants to know about

), she said that we'll be doing one long and one short one. I know these are shorter in general than the SS or Sin6 -- these are more mix and match, but the cardio or cardio & sculpt ones are the longer ones of the set and the short ones are either 6 minute abs or a shorter version of Cool It Off.

The woman I talked with says that she is actually going to film the workouts that we'll do on rough video copies (or maybe dvd with the new camcorders???) So that will be fun to see Debbie at work in an unfinished product.

And I get to not only meet her, but I get to work out with her!!!!!! I still can hardly believe it! I did Firm It Up this morning trying to imagine being there on the set (or some set, but it would be great if it was that set -- I've always wondered what it was like outside that door on the left

). But I tried not to think about it TOO much until I knew the results. Now I can think about it for real and I'll get to see how a workout video is made and all that. I've always wondered about the cuts or whatever. Just think, Debbie may walk back during the workout and check my form while she takes a break -- LOL! Too cool!

How are the folks at Beachbody, how's Debbie, how's it like filming a fitness video...and of course, if you are allowed to, I hope you can share with us all the details of all the workouts!

) They already know I'm a VFer. I mentioned in my interview that I'd heard all about Slim Series on VF when it first came out (but of course, I called it "the Video Fitness website" in case they weren't VF lingo savvy like we are
